Persona 3 Reload is already dominating sales, already becoming the quickest-selling Atlus game ever made. Since it’s only been a week, we imagine that the remake will continue to cause Mass Destruction on sales charts, and deservingly so.
Atlus has confirmed that Reload already sold 1 million copies in a week, the most a game from the company has sold in that amount of time. While fans expected it to do well, the fact that it’s doing this well is still a nice surprise, since many considered it underrated.
Considering how Persona 3 Reload has already outdone Persona 5 Royal in terms of Steam’s player base, this could just be the beginning. This also proves that Atlus can sell a ton of copies right away with multi-platform releases, making us wonder why the Persona series was stuck on PlayStation for so long.
It seems that Atlus isn’t done with this remake just yet, as leakers have claimed that Reload is going to get some missing content as DLC. No female protagonist, sadly, but the game will reportedly get The Answer, an epilogue from FES that fans consider ridiculously challenging and fairly emotional.
The success of Persona 3 Reload might also lead to more remakes, as insiders are claiming that remakes of Persona 2 and Persona 4 are coming. While Persona 4 is readily available via the Golden re-release, Persona 2 has rarely been re-released, so a remaster/remake would be great.
Persona 3 Reload is a quality remake of the PS2 classic, with quality-of-life improvements that make it a much more tolerable experience. Despite some fans preferring the old battle system where the AI controls your teammates, being able to control them just makes fights feel better. This writer was a huge fan of these changes, as he gave it a perfect 10/10, flaws and all.
