Those of you looking forward to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth are in for both a treat and a doozy. Through datamining, PlayStation Game Size has confirmed that there will be a demo for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth in the weeks leading up to its official release.
We estimate this demo will be released a day after the PlayStation State of Play scheduled on Tuesday, February 6 at 3:30 pm PT which is dedicated solely to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. This leaves us with 3 weeks to play through the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Demo.
The existence of the demo itself was confirmed by PlayStation Game Size who checked through the files on the back end of the PlayStation Store to find the existence of both the Demo and associated save transfer rewards.
This means there is an active incentive for players to get the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Demo and play through it. Completionists will want everything from the Kuro Charm - Survival Set to all the outfits in the game. However, this is where the annoying part comes in.
PlayStation Game Size also discovered that the download size for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a whopping 145.25 GB on the PlayStation 5. That's a good 50 GB larger than the Final Fantasy VII Remake which had a file size of 94.86 GB.
Hopefully, the demo itself will have a smaller size and be more accessible during the time it will be available. There are also reports that suggest that the demo content will cover the events that took place in Nibelheim and will let you play as Zack.
While this is definitely frustrating for those with slow internet connections, it also means that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be packed full of side quests, activities, and, content that will keep you busy for a long time. We have a hub dedicated to everything FF7 Rebirth related.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will officially release on 29 February 2024 for the PlayStation 5. The PC version will take a couple more months to release.
