Want to know how to get Glimmet in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet? One of the new additions to the Pokedex is Glimmet, a rarely-seen and vaguely plant-shaped Pokemon in Paldea. Let's see where to catch it, and how to evolve it.

Glimmet and its evolution are both Rock- and Poison-type, and can be very useful in battles due to their resistances and moves they can learn. The design of them is also something different, looking a bit like the Terastal jewels that appear on Pokemon in the new games. Whether or not there's a connection there remains to be seen, however.

How to get Glimmet in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

The Ore Pokemon is a tiny, blueish purple, floating Pokemon that spawns inside caves, hugging the walls. For this reason, it can be a rare spawn and may take some time to find.

There are some locations that spawn more Glimmets than others. These include the caves in East Province (Area Three), especially near the river towards the Tagtree Thicket, the Asado Desert caves, and South Province (Area Six), on the way to Alfornada.

We found a cluster of two Glimmets at once in East Province as we were looking for one! They tend to be around level 25-30, so aren't too tiresome of a battle.

Does Glimmet evolve in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

Not only is Glimmet's little self useful in a team, it evolves into something that can learn a new move.

Starting at level 35, Glimmet will evolve into Glimmora, a vaguely more flower-shaped Pokemon. This can learn Mortal Spin - the only Pokemon that can - which is a very useful move. When used it will inflict damage, and also remove the effects of binding moves from the user (Leech Seed and Wrap, for instance). It can also poison the opposing Pokemon.
