Ranked modes feature in nearly every single battle royale and allow players to take part in more competitive matches in addition to working their way through numerous ranks to become the best in the world.
The Call of Duty franchise has a strange relationship with this particular feature. While Vanguard features a ranked mode, Warzone continues to lack the feature much to the annoyance of those wanting more of a challenge when dropping into the action.
As attention begins switching to the launch of Warzone 2, a leak claims the current iteration of Warzone will receive a ranked mode for testing purposes.
Warzone Will Get A Ranked Mode
The demand for a Ranked mode for Warzone remains high even with the Pacific era coming to a close. Many thought the Iron Trials mode would act as the foundation for Warzone's ranked offerings but it soon disappeared along with the other LTMs before it.
With the likelihood of the game getting a ranked playlist dwindling, notable Call of Duty leaker "TheGhostOfHope" has restored the hopes of those wanting to get their competitive fix.
A July 12, 2022 Tweet, the leaker the foundations of a ranked mode will make its way to Warzone before the launch of Modern Warfare 2 in October. In addition, they claim it will be the blueprint used for a ranked playlist in Warzone 2.
The leak continues to receive a mixed reception from the community, with many taking it with a pinch of salt until Raven Software shares official information on its plans.
It's unlikely any form of ranked mode would appear this late into the Warzone cycle but a few weeks of testing could make all the difference if Infinity Ward is planning on introducing a ranked playlist into Warzone 2. Season 5 isn't far away, could a ranked beta feature in the Pacific's final season? We will have to wait and see.
