Modders have historically put a lot of effort into making Skyrim feel as immersive and realistic as possible, bringing everything from destructible furniture to gear-equipping animations and dynamically-learning NPCs to the game.

A lot of these changes have helped to make roleplaying as a hunter just as immersive as it can be in games like Red Dead Redemption 2, by discouraging animals from acting weirdly and making sure they can be skinned and trapped as they would be in real life.

Now, a new mod has arrived to help make the life of a Skyrim deerstalker even more immersive, by giving you the ability to carry both weapons and carcasses around on your horse.

The mod in question is called ‘Carry My Carcass Horse’, and is the work of modder GiraPomba. Their previous work has helped the Dragonborn draw their weapons a bit more snazzily.

This time, they’ve built on another of their recent mods, ‘Carry My Stuff Horse’, by making sure that any compatible carcass in your inventory when you mount up will be displayed on your horse, suitably secured in order to ensure that they won’t fall off if you decide to go galloping after a butterfly.

They’ve accomplished this by creating a modified version of Swashbuckler24’s incredibly popular hunting mod ‘Carry Your Carcasses’, which allows the player to carry animal carcasses on their shoulders or throw them onto a horse.

This modified version is designed to work perfectly with ‘Carry My Stuff Horse’, ensuring that you can have a wolf or deer stashed away beside your trusty hunting bow, without having to worry about them clipping through each other too often and reminding you that you aren’t actually a wildman or woman living in the wilderness.

The mod should also work with most custom horse mods, ensuring that your choice of stallion isn’t too much of a burden to your desire to ride around with a mammoth strapped to it.

If that sounds appealing to you, you’ll need to grab Swashbuckler24’s mod first, in addition to slavicpotato1’s ‘Immersive Equipment Displays’, ‘powerofthree's Papyrus Extender’ and ‘SkyUI’, plus all of their requirements.
