Modders have put an awful lot of effort into making sure Skyrim has continually evolved and expanded in the years since it was first released into the world.

Many have focused on changing the game by adding massive new questlines, redesigned mechanics, and plenty of cheese wheels to it, with a few even going as far as gifting Vampire Lords a plethora of new powers or adding an Oblivion-style arena to Falkreath.

If you’re someone who’s always itching for fresh adventures to send your Dragonborn on and welcome the chance to cause some trouble for The Thalmor, a new mod might be worth taking a look at.

Feel like diving into this interesting Thalmor-themed quest next time you fire up Skyrim?

The mod in question is called ‘The Welkynar Knight - Quest’, and is the work of modders wSkeever and Kreiste. Some of the duo’s previous projects have added adventures centred around traversing a spooky maze in the Soul Cairn and visiting a magical snow globe to celebrate the in-universe holiday of Saturalia to the game.

This time, they’ve decided to create a new questline that revolves around helping an Altmer knight named Nirenoore in a crusade against The Thalmor and contains an array of different endings based on the choices you make at various points.

So, make sure you thoroughly mull over the actions you take and dialogue lines you pick, as these will influence the outcome you get and whether you end up with the option of recruiting Nirenoore as a follower, with this depending upon her disposition towards you once you’ve concluded her affair.

That said, even if you don’t manage to keep your new Elven friend happy enough to access the couple of extra quests on offer to those who explore the province with her once they’ve finished the mod’s main storyline, you will end up being able to craft some unique gear, dubbed the ‘Winged Hussar Armor and Weapons’.

Perfect for warriors and battlemages, this regal armour set even looks to come with some optional wing accessories, which’ll definitely help you to stand out from the crowd.

One possible caveat of the mod, depending upon your views, is that its voiced dialogue has been produced using AI generation. If that’s a dealbreaker or you simply prefer chatting with NPCs voiced by traditional voice actors, you might want to check out another recently released mod, ‘Betalille's Hammerfell Quests Bundle - The Gray Cowl of Nocturnal’, instead.

This work adds a bunch of new missions to the worldspace of modder mannyGT’s uber-popular ‘The Gray Cowl of Nocturnal SE’, giving you a bunch of interesting things to do the next time you visit the Alik'r Desert.
