Modders have put an awful lot of effort into making sure Skyrim has continually evolved and expanded in the years since it was first released into the world.
Many have focused on changing the game by finding interesting ways to improve its combat or adding everything from fully voice-acted quests to unique player homes and fresh alchemy recipes to it, with a few even going as far as re-creating weapons from other Elder Scrolls games or changing the way saves are loaded to help minimise bugs.
If you’re someone who prefers to make slightly more zany changes to the game in order to revamp it, a new mod, which will help you inadvertently increase the influence of everyone’s favourite nobleman, might be worth adding to your load order.
Fancy transforming all of your Dragonborn’s foes into Whiterun’s most important citizen?
The mod in question is called ‘Weapons of the Cloud - Every NPC You Hit Turns Into Nazeem’, and is the work of modder JaredAlexanderJohnson, who goes by Owlet on YouTube. Some of their previous projects have brought some fresh atmospheric tunes to the game and added a lore-friendly player home for mages to it.
This time, they’ve taken inspiration from Lawcet’s iconic ‘Sheogorath's Bow of Cheese’ and decided to create two weapons that’ll turn your foes into something a little less palatable as soon as you inflict some damage.
As you can see in the video above, the Wabbajack-style bow and sword included in the mod ae imbued with the power to instantly turn any living creature you might come across in your travels, with the sole exception of children, into Nazeem, allowing you to fill the province with pompous patricians who’ll prattle on about the Cloud District.
It’s unclear what effects turning characters like Jarl Balgruuf or Ulfric Stormcloak into central Skyrim’s most disturbing dignitary might have on your ability to complete quests involving these fine folks, but let’s face it, if you’re in the market for a mod like this, you probably aren’t too bothered.
Assuming you can live with the idea of the province’s civil war only being able to be resolved when the Nazeem virus has spread to every Stormcloak or Imperial soldier, you’ll want to head to his bed on the upstairs floor of The Drunken Huntsman as soon as you load into the game.
Underneath it, you’ll find the bow and sword in question and will be able to dive straight into causing Nazeem-based chaos.
Regardless of whether your Dragonborn is now fleeing from a band of angry Cloud District enthusiasts, make sure to follow us for more updates on The Elder Scrolls 6 and the interesting world of Skyrim modding.
