Modders have put an awful lot of effort into making sure Skyrim has continually evolved and expanded in the years since it was first released into the world.

Many have focused on changing the game by overhauling iconic quests, revamping menus, and adding interesting new collectables to it, with a few even going as far as re-creating areas from previous Elder Scrolls games or giving players the ability to dress up like characters from Gotham Knights.

However, the creation currently wowing those on Skyrim’s subreddit isn’t an addition made by modders to the game itself, but rather a re-creation of one of its cities in the world of Far Cry 5.

What do you think of this re-creation of Skyrim’s crime capital?

This peculiar project forms the subject of a thread on r/skyrim, which was kicked off by a post from its creator, user mojoswoptops2020, who shared some images of Hope County’s version of Riften, which you can get a great look at in the video below.

As you can see, the resemblance is quite striking despite the lack of NPCs to bring the city to life, with iconic locations like the marketplace, The Bee and Barb and Mistveil Keep all helping to set the scene.

“It took around eight hours to build in Far Cry 5’s in-game map editor on Xbox Series X.” explained mojoswoptops2020 in a reply to the post, adding: “I had to force myself to stop!”

The Skyrim stans in the thread were very impressed by their commitment, with user Ole40MikeMike declaring: “That's pretty dope.” and POWWAAAAHHHH adding: “Very nice, I wouldn’t have the patience to do all the fine details.”

Meanwhile, user KailReed provided a suggestion for mojoswoptops2020’s next Far Cry construction session, saying: “Oooh, now you should try Markarth, (my) fave city.”, to which they replied: “Yeah I've been considering that place, it's my favourite city too.”
