Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is still one of the best PlayStation 5 games available and fans want to replay it with the promised New Game Plus feature. While Insomniac Games has yet to add the feature, the developers are hard at work to make it a reality, even if it takes ages.
Responding to fans on Twitter, the official Insomniac Games account confirmed that they are still working on the New Game Plus mode. Although the account didn’t share a release date, the devs did say that they will share news for the game as soon as they can.
New Game Plus being added to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 post-launch isn’t a huge deal, since Insomniac Games did the same with the first game. While it did take a while, the results were worth it, as fans could start the game with their favorite costumes and all of their skills. Fans are hoping to do the same here, as Peter Parker has a non-symbiote black suit that looks great and players want more time with it.
Some fans might not be cool with New Game Plus as a post-launch mode, but at least the devs are adding it for free. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is locking that mode behind a paywall, which has annoyed plenty of gamers. Considering how that mode makes getting achievements a lot easier, locking it behind a paywall can be a huge pain.
In addition to New Game Plus, fans are also hoping that leaks of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 getting free DLC become a reality. This worked well for God of War Ragnarok, as many fans enjoyed the recent Valhalla content, which is essentially a roguelike mode with a new story. Considering what’s been rumoured for the DLC, we’re looking forward to seeing what’s added in this exceptional sequel.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is readily available on PlayStation 5 and is arguably the system’s best exclusive. Rumours claim that the game is also coming to PC, though no release window for that has been given.
