The remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic continues to be cursed, as nothing new has been revealed since that one CGI trailer. Unfortunately, the game has been plagued with production issues ever since, and now reports are claiming that this title is not in active development.

Gaming insider Jeff Grub recently said that the remake isn’t in active development, with no developer attached to this title. It’s never good to hear about a troubled project now having a developer, which will make most of us think this is getting canceled.

Admittedly, this is far from the most surprising result when it comes to the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake. Recently, the CEO of Embracer refused to comment on the status of KOTOR, showing that the project continues to be in trouble. Sony also took down the remake’s reveal trailer from their YouTube channel, which is a major sign that this game isn’t long for this world.

Currently, there has been no official confirmation that this remake will be canceled and anything can happen. However, things aren’t looking good right now and we don’t know if they’re ever going to get better.

It’s not just the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic that’s been getting heat from fans, as the re-release of KOTOR 2 was also part of some controversy. Aspyr, the studio that has been responsible for re-releasing older Star Wars games, canceled the DLC they announced for KOTOR 2. Recently, the company blamed a “third party” for the DLC’s cancelation, though that didn’t make them any less angry.

When the remake of KOTOR was first announced as a PlayStation 5 exclusive, fans were incredibly excited. However, things kept getting worse behind the scenes, with developers changing constantly. The rumours of cancelation aren’t surprising at all, though we wouldn’t mind a miracle push.
