Outpost Transfer Containers in Starfield explained
To use an Outpost Transfer Container, here’s what you need to do:
- Head to any outpost
- Open your Cargo Hold inventory which can be accessed via the cockpit
- As long as you are docked at an outpost with an Outpost Transfer Container, you will be able to swap items between your outpost’s inventory, personal inventory, and the ship’s inventory
- You can either transfer all resources at once or manually manage your resources.
How to make an Outpost Transfer Container
You need to build an outpost before you can build an Outpost Transfer Container. To build a Transfer Container you need the following items:
- 8X Iron
- 4X Lubricant
- 5X Tungsten
These are all common resources and you should be able to find them during exploration. If you are missing the resources, the fastest way to obtain them is by buying them from vendors in cities.
After building your first Transfer Container, you need to connect it to an extractor and create an Output Link. Simply point the extractor line to the container and you are good to go when you see a green line appear. To make your resource farming even more efficient, you should consider building a landing pad for your ship as close to the outpost as possible.
What to do if you can’t access your Outpost Transfer Container
If you opened your cargo Hold and are unable to access your inventory, you are most likely out of power, do not have an Output Link build, or are too far from the container. If you do not have enough power you simply need to have a power source whose capacity exceeds your requirements.
