Most of the hardcore Bethesda RPG fans who’ve invested thousands of hours into Skyrim and Fallout 4 couldn’t wait for the chance to start digging into Starfield.
Most of those who paid for early access to the game are now plenty of hours deep into their adventures through space, with lots of that time likely spent hunting down Artifacts, making interesting discoveries, and building cool spaceships.
Meanwhile some have been busy downloading useful or amusing mods for the game or, getting up to a range of wacky hijinks in it, with one recent example of the latter having shown that we probably haven’t even scratched the surface of what the game has to offer for hoarders.
Have you filled your Starfield character’s ship with junk yet?
While other players have been busy collecting everything from house plants to toilet paper, Reddit user Moozipan has managed to fill their ship with enough potatoes to power every chippy in Britain for at least a year.
In a clip posted to the Starfield subreddit, which they jokingly captioned “time to let something go,” they showed off a wave of spuds spewing forth from their craft’s cockpit.
While a number of fellow Redditors have gushed over how well the video demonstrates the game’s spill physics, or debated whether console commands were used to amass the treasure trove of taters, Moozipan has used the thread as a chance to voice their opinion on the game’s lack of accessibility features.
“My favourite vegetable is accessibility features, because they allow gamers of any shape or form to enjoy games just like anyone else,” they wrote, continuing: “it is a real shame that Starfield released without even the most basic accessibility features, such as FOV sliders, different subtitle sizes, aim assist, colorblind modes, toggles for hold actions, or contrast settings.”
Meanwhile, they’ve since released a follow-up post that sees them seal Constellation head honcho Sarah Morgan in the section of the ship containing the hoard of potatoes, after having lobbed in a grenade or mine.
The clip cuts off at exactly the right moment to capture the moment the spuds begin to fly everywhere, leaving you in suspense as to how Morgan fared after uttering the immortal line: “Time to go?”
If you’re planning on trying to achieve a similar level of spaceship-based hoarding, you might want to opt to mirror the corridor-heavy design philosophy of Reddit user FLDJF713.
Even if you aren’t, you could well end up accidentally filling up your craft with a bunch of kidnapped NPCs, as seemingly almost happened to streamer MissMikkaa.
