Most of the hardcore Bethesda RPG fans who’ve invested thousands of hours into Skyrim and Fallout 4 couldn’t wait for the chance to start digging into Starfield.

After a thank you message from Todd Howard and a couple of heated discourses got fans nice and warmed up for the game to finally arrive, most of those who paid for early access are now many hours deep into their adventures through space.

Those who’ve managed to resist the urge to spend all their time downloading a litany of mods have likely been busy hunting down artefacts and making interesting discoveries. That said, it seems some have elected instead to head for the nearest spaceport and while away the hours building the ideal craft to roam the galaxy in.

What does the ship you’re exploring Starfield’s cosmos in look like?

As you might expect from a community filled with members who had their ship builds planned out, at least from a theoretical perspective, all the way back in February, the Starfield subreddit is already teeming with folks showing off their cool creations.

Many of these craft are re-creations inspired by an array of ships from movies, TV and other games, such as Star Wars’ iconic Millennium Falcon, which has been accompanied by several mini Star Destroyers and an entire fleet of X- and Y-wing fighters.

Others have chosen to wander the galaxy behind the controls of vessels that mirror the likes of Firefly’s Serenity, Mass Effect’s Normandy SR-2 and a Charon-class Light Frigate from Halo, all of which look like they can help bring a different vibe to any voyage.

On the other hand, user Fishbait37 has shown that some players have been taking a crack at recreating space-faring craft from the real world, with them having memorialised the Challenger space shuttle and shared it with the caption: “For the ones who paved the way.”

Meanwhile, a few maverick members of Constellation have simply elected to let their imaginations run wild, leading to builds like snappily-named user 7375636B6D796469636B’s “flying condominium,” which they somehow plan on making even taller going forwards.

Equally bizarre is user klinestife’s ship, which seemingly owes its strange shape to a quest to rapidly install 30 unique ship modules.

Regardless of whether you’ve already built an entire armada of interestingly-themed ships in Starfield, make sure to follow us for lots of guides to Starfield’s world and mechanics.
