Street Fighter 6 has released some of the worst Battle Passes seen in live-service gaming. It’s a good thing Capcom made this an excellent fighting game, because fans would drop the title if it wasn’t. Thankfully, it seems that Capcom has finally listened to various fan pleas, promising to do better from here on out.

On various social media posts, Capcom has acknowledged that fans don’t just want cosmetics for their avatars anymore. The company promised fans that Year 3 will have Battle Passes that focus more on Fighting Ground content. For those not aware, Fighting Ground is where players can just start fighting with the game’s base roster.

Fans shouldn’t immediately expect new costumes for the Street Fighter 6 characters, though Capcom did say they were working on them. However, as the game’s graphics are much more advanced than Street Fighter V, it makes sense that these new outfits would take longer. It will be interesting to see what other content for Fighting Ground is being worked on, as fans would love the return of Survival Mode.

How bad were the previous Battle Passes in the game? Capcom gave fans a Yor Forger costume from Spy X Family, but it was for their avatars. Most fans would have killed to see Chun-Li have that costume instead, given their similar fighting style. The company also made ridiculously expensive TMNT costumes for player avatars, which most didn’t want to purchase.

It will be interesting to see what Street Fighter 6 will do differently from here on out. Having more costumes would please a lot of fans, especially for fan-favorites like Juri and Cammy. At the least, this game is still an excellent fighting game, so players can always go back to it for that satisfying combat.
