Star Wars Outlaws is just a day from its official release, and many players have already experienced its wonderfully crafted criminal underworld through the game’s Gold and Ultimate Editions.
Spending around $110 for a game may sound overpriced to some, but having early access to Outlaws for three days seems like a good deal for paying players.
Except the game has major update issues that require everyone on PS5 to start over a new game or face game-breaking consequences.
Players on PS5 would get stuck in space after updating Star Wars Outlaws to the latest version. There are no ways to eliminate this bug except by updating to a newer version Ubisoft has released. While it sounded like an easy solution, PS5 players who paid at least $110 for early access will now have to start over, which may sound counterintuitive to what Ubisoft defines as “early access.”

An email from Ubisoft sent to affected players is now circulating Reddit, with many players airing their frustration about what happened. Some players felt they had paid more to become beta testers for Ubisoft, which sounds bad, especially since the Gold and Ultimate editions are $110 and $130, respectively.
According to GamesRadar, affected players will receive an in-game Trailblazer trinket and 100 Ubisoft Connect Units as compensation. Players who have spent hours or even days playing the game will have to lose all progress before launch and receive the aforementioned items in return.
It would seem that players have no choice but to restart, or their gaming experience will worsen as they continue playing their current save file.
Is Ubisoft offering a Trailblazer trinket and 100 Ubisoft Connect Units reasonable compensation?
