Thanks to regular doses of weapon balancing from Infinity Ward and Raven Software, the Warzone 2 meta changes on a regular basis. Despite the best efforts of the developer, there’s always a handful of weaponry that stands out from the rest of the arsenal and in Season 3 Reloaded, it’s no different.

The mid-season update for Call of Duty’s battle royale saw the arrival of the FTAC Siege and the GS Magna in addition to the hotly-anticipated launch of ranked play. Although the ISO Hemlock is hanging onto the top spot of the meta, a new contender is emerging.

Season 3 Reloaded also saw another wave of weapon buffs and nerfs and with fans always hunting for the best guns, many believe a new assault rifle (AR) can contend at the top.

Is this Warzone 2 AR the meta?

According to Warzone 2 content creator Sally Is a Dog, the Lachmann 556 has become a viable option in mid-range engagements.

This particular AR received a range of buffs across all distances, resulting in it “quietly” becoming part of the meta. It’s not just Sally that’s noticed a major improvement in the Lachmann 556. According to WZRanked, the rifle has skyrocketed up to sixth in the table with almost 4% of players selecting the Lachmann 556 in their loadouts.

Armed with a fast rate of fire and recoil that’s very easy to control, it’s no surprise to see the Lachmann 556 rise up the table in Season 3 Reloaded.

With Season 4 just a few weeks away, it’ll be interesting to see if the popularity of the Lachmann 556 will climb even further. For now, it’s definitely worth using if the developer continues to nerf the ISO Hemlock into the ground.
