The current Warzone cycle has certainly been an interesting one. Since shedding the 2.0 from its title, Call of Duty's battle royale has undergone a number of changes designed to improve various aspects of its offerings.

With Season 5 on the horizon, players dropping into the action have recently branded the game "unplayable" due to constant server performance issues. On a more positive note, its July 24 update managed to deliver nerfs to overpowered weapons that had been dominating the meta.

Ahead of the new season, attention is turning towards the future of Warzone. A new leak claims that a number of classic multiplayer maps are set to return as points of interest included in a new map launching alongside Modern Warfare 3.

Warzone Las Almas map leak

Warzone content creator Metaphor has taken to Twitter to share some information on the map, which is rumoured to be situated in the Las Almas region of the Modern Warfare world.

Metaphor claims that the largest building in its downtown area houses the 'Overwatch' multiplayer map from 2011's Modern Warfare 3 on its roof. Additionally, the creator suggests that 'Countdown' from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare appears on the map in some capacity.

They also asserted that the Las Almas map takes plenty of inspiration from Verdansk, but doesn't bear many similarities to either Caldera or Al Mazrah.

Is slide cancelling in the Warzone Las Almas map?

Metaphor also claimed that slide cancelling is present in the current build of the Las Almas map, which is great news for players that've been hoping they'll get the chance to use the mechanic to outplay opponents.

Judging by the comments on the post, there are plenty of excited players planning to make a return to COD if Metaphor turns out to be right, with one saying: "I'd come back to Warzone if this is true."

However, as with all leaks, it's important to take them with a pinch of salt until Activision is ready to share more information on the next chapter of Warzone and how it will integrate into Modern Warfare 3.
