Since Tears of the Kingdom arrived last month, Legend of Zelda fans have spent an incredible amount of energy relentlessly exploring the picturesque plains of Hyrule and enjoying what they have to offer.
While some players have dedicated their time to scything through quests, objectives and challenges, many seem to have been drawn in by the allure of building and sharing interesting contraptions that can unleash waves of destruction, help solve platforming puzzles, or make it easier to get around.
One of the latest cool builds to come out of these creative endeavours is a must-have for those who like to travel in style, but don’t want to contribute to Hylian global warming.
What kinds of vehicles have you built in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom so far?
A clip of this eco-friendly creation in action was shared on the subreddit r/HyruleEngineering by its architect, user Adrianeczko20, who managed to show off some of the grunt on offer from the rechargeable battery powered turbine that propels their vehicle forwards.
While some of their fellow engineers simply complimented them on constructing an interesting motor to convey them across Hyrule, others, naturally, had questions to ask and possible improvements to recommend.
Though some simply wanted to know where to get their hands on the batteries, which Adrianeczko20 revealed had come from “the shrine in Zora’s Domain,” user TheArtistFKAMinty asked how the craft handled, saying: “Steering wheels are kinda weird in that you can weirdly get some degree of steering even without a device with directional inputs [like the wheels or Zonai fans], but I imagine this still barely turns, if at all.”
“Yeah, I still need to work on the steering system.” replied Adrianeczko20, continuing: “I’m thinking about attaching the front axis to the frame from below using a wooden wheel, so [that] the whole axis can spin, and then maybe limiting its movement by attaching something like lights to block it.”
They also added, in response to another of TheArtistFKAMinty’s queries, that the range of the dual-battery powered vehicle is “about a minute or so.”
Meanwhile, user formenonly took the opportunity to declare: “I fully can’t even imagine what we’re gonna see on here in like a year’s time,” to which PerryZePlatypus responded: “Ganondorf getting wiped out by tactical nuke.”
