Since Tears of the Kingdom arrived last month, Legend of Zelda fans have spent an incredible amount of energy relentlessly exploring the picturesque plains of Hyrule and enjoying what they have to offer.
Some players have been dedicating most of their time in the game so far to building and sharing an array of interesting contraptions that can unleash waves of destruction, help solve platforming puzzles, or make it easier to get around, while others have been trying to scythe through quests as fast as possible.
If you’re someone who’s already craving the chance to spice up your adventures by adding a dose of randomness to them, a new mod might be worth taking a look at.
Do you want to spice up your The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom experience via a concentrated dose of randomness?
The mod in question is ‘TOTK Randomizer by Waikuteru’, and, as you might have guessed, it's primarily the brainchild of prolific modder Waikuteru. Some of their previous projects for Tears of the Kingdom have enabled Link to teleport a lot faster and turned him into an invincible god.
This time, they’ve begun work on a randomiser mod for the latest entry in the Zelda series, which will eventually come to resemble the randomiser mod they and a team of other talented modders developed for Breath of the Wild back in 2021.
As you can see in the showcase video above, the current early access version of the mod, which is only available via Waikuteru’s Patreon, contains a simple randomiser cycle that will give you random weapons or items, boost or decrease your rupee total, or teleport you to a random location, at certain intervals.
Going forwards, Waikuteru plans to add features like the Breath of the Wild randomiser’s randomised enemy spawns, item drops and environmental changes into this new one, as well as some community-suggested features voted for in polls on their Discord server.
Once all of the “base features” they’ve got planned have been added to it, the mod will be released to the public for free, meaning you’ll be able to grab it and enjoy an in-depth randomised experience.
