In most HoYoverse games, the elemental attributes of a character play a big part in how viable they are for certain battles. The Zenless Zone Zero elements are no different, so we'll be taking a look at the different attributes available in the post-apocalyptic adventure game and the impact they have during combat.
You won't always be able to grab the most powerful character to power through content in Zenless Zone Zero, so it would do you good to learn about all of the different elements in the game. That way, you can come up with some viable strategies with the ZZZ characters in your roster.

Which are the elements in Zenless Zone Zero?
There are five elements in Zenless Zone Zero right now:
- Fire
- Electric
- Ice
- Physical
- Ether
Each Agent in the game is affiliated with one element, so it's important to take their attributes into consideration when building the best ZZZ team comps. Having the right elements in your lineup could be the deciding factor on whether or not you survive the next Hollow.
What Does Each Element Do in Zenless Zone Zero?
Continuously dealing elemental damage to an enemy in Zenless Zone Zero will build up its Attribute Anomaly. Once you've accumulated enough of an element's Attribute Anomaly, it will apply a debuff on the target.
Here's a rundown of the different debuffs each element can trigger with Attribute Anomaly:
- Shock (Electric) - Attacks will trigger additional Electric damage that can also interrupt targets. Machine-type enemies will be unable to move when Shock is applied.
- Assault (Physical) - Interrupt the target and deal heavy Physical damage.
- Armor Break (Physical) - Reduce the target's Physical Damage Resistance for a certain period.
- Burn (Fire) - Continuously deals Fire damage. Organic-type enemies will be unable to move when Burn is applied.
- Freeze (Ice) - Prevent the target from moving for a brief period then trigger a Shatter effect that deals Ice damage when the duration is over.
- Frostbite (Ice) - Reduce the target's Ice Damage Resistance for a certain period.
- Corruption (Ether) - Attacks will trigger additional Ether damage. Ethereal-type enemies afflicted with Corruption may attack their allies.
On top of being able to trigger Attribute Anomaly effects, certain enemy types will be more vulnerable to specific elements. Here are the different enemy weaknesses so far:
- Organic - Weak to Fire
- Machine - Weak to Electric
- Ethereal - Weak to Ether
We've yet to discover which enemy types are weak to Ice and Physical attacks but we'll update this guide once they're found.
