He may not have managed to launch his own liquor or FPS game, as fellow streamer Dr Disrespect did last year, quite yet, but Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins is no stranger to taking fresh opportunities outside of streaming when they come his way.

While his latest on-screen antics with the Doc and Timthetatman in Fortnite haven’t been going too well, Blevins will be hoping for better from a new job at esports company GameSquare, which is part-owned by real estate magnate John Goff and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

As reported by Forbes, the streamer will be taking on the mantle of Chief Innovation Officer, with the aim of helping the organisation expand its influence going forwards.

Ninja’s new role was announced by GameSquare on Twitter via a post featuring a video showcasing some of his most iconic moments over the years, including appearing on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show and streaming with Drake.

In a post on the company’s website, Blevins said of the move: ““I want to build the next big thing in gaming, and I found that in GameSquare. Justin and the team have put together a world-class platform that will help me innovate and create engaging experiences to inspire the next generation of streamers and leave a lasting impact on the industry.”

The same post emphasises that: “Core to Blevins’ mandate as CIO is to helm Ninja Labs, GameSquare's new innovation hub. Informed by his own experience popularising gaming culture, Blevins will utilise Ninja Labs to curate disruptive strategies, pursue new business opportunities, and explore next-gen technologies to accelerate the industry’s growth within pop culture.”

This initiative already has a website, which currently hosts four items of Ninja and GameSquare-branded merchandise, including a hoodie, t-shirt and mousepad, which are slightly different in appearance to items of the same type available from Blevins’ existing merch website, teamninja.com.
