Taking the fight to the Witness and finally paying off the last decade of Destiny is undeniably one of the main draws of The Final Shape, though it’s the new Exotic gear that really spices things up. The Destiny 2 The Final Shape Exotics include new weapons and armor that open up powerful build opportunities for each of the three classes.

Pair these new TFS Exotics with the equally shiny Destiny 2 Primastic subclass or The Final Shape Supers and you’ve got a potent combination fit for taking down the Witness. Well, once you know how to unlock each of The Final Shape Exotics in one of the best FPS games at least.

All Destiny 2 The Final Shape Exotics

The 16 Destiny 2 The Final Shape Exotics are:

  • Ergo Sum - Sword
  • Euphony - Fusion Rifle
  • Khvostov - Auto Rifle
  • Microcosm - Trace Rifle
  • Red Death Reformed - Pulse Rifle
  • Still Hunt - Sniper
  • Tessellation - Linear Fusion Rifle
  • Mataiodoxia - Warlock Chest
  • Speaker’s Sight - Warlock Helmet
  • Gifted Conviction - Hunter Chest
  • Balance of Power - Hunter Legs
  • Hazardous Propulsion - Titan Chest
  • Wishful Ignorance - Titan Gauntlets
  • Solipsism - Warlock Class Item
  • Existentialism - Hunter Class Item
  • Stoicism - Titan Class Item

These new Exotic items, including weapons, armor, and the first Exotic class items, are acquired from a variety of different sources. As such, it requires a bit of legwork to get all TFS Exotics. Some even require you to have completed all of the Destiny 2 The Final Shape missions beforehand.

Destiny 2 The Final Shape Exotic Weapons

There are seven new Exotic weapons in Destiny 2 The Final Shape, unlocked via quests and completing specific activities, such as the raid.

Ergo Sum - Exotic Sword

  • Transcendent Duelist Intrinsic Trait: This weapon collects less ammo. Final blows with this weapon accelerate Light and Darkness mastery.
Deals increased damage while Transcendent; defeating targets lengthens Transcendence.
  • Trait: Random perk from a selection of perks based on other Exotic weapons.
  • Element: Kinetic (Energy)
  • Source: Destined Heroes Exotic quest, Pathfinder, Overthrow.

Ergo Sum is the first non-heavy sword, and an Exotic at that. To make it even more interesting, Ergo Sum has a randomized perk slot. While it will always drop with Transcendent Duelist, tying into your Prismatic builds, its second perk ups the chaos. Whether it's borrowing Gjallarhorn's Wolfpack Rounds or Risk Runner's Arc Conductor trait, Ergo Sum is an incredibly fun and unique Exotic.

Euphony - Exotic Linear Fusion Rifle

  • Unwound Intrinsic Trait: Dealing sustained damage with this weapon spawns Threadlings at your target's location.
  • Spindle Trait: Threadling damage increases this weapon's damage.
  • Element: Strand
  • Source: Salvation's Edge raid final boss

Euphony is the Exotic weapon earned in the Salvation's Edge loot table, the raid in The Final Shape. While many are disappointed that the reward for such a pivotal event is a rather mundane linear fusion rifle, Euphony is nothing to scoff at, especially if you're a fan of Threadlings. It's capable of surprisingly strong boss damage thanks to its Spindle perk.

Khvostov - Exotic Auto Rifle

  • The Right Choice Intrinsic Trait: Every seventh bullet from this weapon ricochets to nearby targets.
  • Eyes Up, Guardian Trait: Picking up an Orb of Power makes the next several bullets ricochet, providing additional damage and more bounces between targets.
  • Element: Kinetic
  • Source: Exotic quest

Any Destiny 1 players will immediately be hit by a wave of nostalgia with the Khvostov 7G-02. The first-ever weapon we picked up in Destiny 1, later brought back as an Exotic in the first game, is finally being brought back once more in Destiny 2 The Final Shape. Since we’re returning to the Traveler for a ‘greatest hits’-infused story, it’s only fitting that the Khvostov is back in our hands again.

Microcosm - Exotic Trace Rifle

  • Paracausal Beam Intrinsic Trait: Fires a beam of Kinetic light, dealing massive bonus damage to shields.
  • Paracausal Imbuement Trait: Final blows with this weapon grant Super energy. This weapon gains bonus damage once your Super expires.
  • Element: Kinetic
  • Source: Convalescence: Budding Exotic quest

Exotic Trace Rifles usually have a strong, niche role to set them apart from the rest of our arsenals, whether it’s granting Woven Mail or weakening enemies. It should be no surprise then that Microcosm is designed with a similar niche in mind - though not nearly as universally strong. Dealing increased damage to shields, it’s hard to imagine a situation where having a Microcosm taking up your Exotic weapon slot is a worthwhile choice. However, its ability to charge Super energy is a much more appealing buff.

Red Death Reformed - Exotic Pulse Rifle

  • Redemption Intrinsic Trait: Final blows with this weapon cure you and increase reload speed; reloading after final blows cures nearby allies.
  • Inverse Relationship Trait: When you deal damage with this weapon, it gains increased handling, takes reduced flinch, and movement speed is increased for a short time. When you are at reduced health, this weapon deals additional damage.
  • Element: Solar
  • Source: Episode 1: Echoes battle pass

Another weapon from our arsenal of old, Red Death returns in The Final Shape via the season pass. However, it's got a new look. Called Red Death Reformed, this new version is slightly different than its Destiny 1 counterpart. If you reach level 100 in the season pass, you'll get a new ornament for Red Death.

Still Hunt - Exotic Sniper Rifle

  • Cayde's Retribution Intrinsic Trait: Pick up Orbs of Power or land six precision hits to charge this weapon's Super bar. Once full, hold reload to fire Golden Gun shots.
  • Sharpshooter Trait: This weapon gains passive bonuses to target acquisition, aim down sight speed, and flinch resistance. This bonus increases when this weapon's Super mode is active.
  • Element: Solar
  • Source: Wild Card Exotic quest

Does having the power of a Hunter’s Golden Gun in the palms of your hands sound enticing to you? Well, it should, especially if you’re a Warlock or Titan. Similar to Izanagi’s Burden, Still Hunt effectively lets you turn your sniper into an amped-up railgun. The difference is that Still Hunt sets your weapon ablaze and lets you fire multiple charged shots.

Tessellation - Exotic Fusion Rifle

  • Property: Undecidable Intrinsic Trait: This weapon adapts its damage type to match your equipped subclass. Final Blows grant grenade energy.
  • Property: Irreducible Trait: Consume your grenade to load a large projectile that generates an elemental explosion on impact.
  • Source: Pre-order The Final Shape + Annual Pass Edition.

Tessellation has been available in-game since August, giving players their first hands-on with one of The Final Shape Exotic weapons. This fusion has stiff competition from other Exotic Special weapons, though it’s a great option in grenade-heavy builds. If your grenade energy recharges quickly, then Tessellation can deal heavy damage with its self-sustaining perks.

Destiny 2 The Final Shape Exotic Armor

There are two new Exotic armor pieces per class (not including class items), adding up to six new armor pieces in Destiny 2 The Final Shape.

Mataiodoxia - Warlock Chest

  • Stylostixis Exotic Perk: Targets damaged by Arcane Needle emit a suspending detonation when defeated, and landing multiple Arcane Needles on the same target immediately triggers a larger, more powerful detonation. Defeating suspended targets grants melee energy. Your Arcane Needles are strong against Barrier Champions.
  • Source: Exotic focusing at Rahool, The Final Shape Legendary campaign

Mataoidoxia is an Exotic chest armor designed for Warlock Strand melee builds. Although it’s a niche setup with other great Exotics to choose from, suspend is an incredibly powerful effect. If you’re an arcane needle-lover, then Mataiodoxia is your new best friend, especially as suspending enemies will also give you melee energy back.

Speaker’s Sight - Warlock Helmet

  • The Lost Voice Exotic Perk: Healing grenades spawn a Restorative Turret. Healing allies occasionally spawns an Orb of Power.
  • Source: Exotic focusing at Rahool, The Final Shape Legendary campaign

The Speaker’s Sight is a new Exotic helmet for Warlocks inspired by the Speaker and it opens up even more supportive capabilities for this class. Not only can you heal allies passively thanks to the turret, but you can also occasionally create Orbs to recharge Supers and activate other buffs if you or your allies have Orb builds.

Gifted Conviction - Hunter Chest

  • The Gift of Certainty Exotic Perk: Activating Ascension or Tempest Strike throws bouncing explosives at nearby targets that jolt and damage them. Jolting nearby targets grants you damage resistance.
  • Source: Exotic focusing at Rahool, The Final Shape Legendary campaign

Gifted Conviction, a new Exotic Hunter chest armor, is great for pyromaniacs built for ability spam. Not only do the bouncing grenades it create damage enemies, but they also jolt them to activate other elements of your build and give you damage resistance - something which Hunters can struggle with at times.

Balance of Power - Hunter Legs

  • Double Down Exotic Perk: Your Threaded Specter has increased duration and durability, and damaging it releases additional Threadlings. While near your Threaded Specter, you do not appear on the radar.
  • Source: Exotic focusing at Rahool, The Final Shape Legendary campaign

A new pair of Exotic Hunter legs, Balance of Power sure looks the part with its rugged design. Balance of Power is all about making the most of the Hunter's Threaded Specter. By increasing its duration and durability, this ability can now tank even more damage for you, and when it does, it will create Threadlings to deal damage back to your enemy.

Hazardous Propulsion - Titan Chest

  • Danger Close Exotic Perk: Weapon precision hits or final blows have a chance to load a Kinetic Exodus rocket. Activating your class ability fires loaded Exodus rockets. Damaging targets with Exodus rockets temporarily increases the damage you deal with all other rockets.
  • Source: Exotic focusing at Rahool, The Final Shape Legendary campaign

There’s nothing Titans love more than causing destruction while being a tanky wall of steel. Well, the new Hazardous Propulsion Exotic chest armor lets you do just that by causing your class ability to fire a volley of homing rockets each time you cast it. With how quickly ability spam builds can recharge class ability energy, this Exotic is a great choice. Not only does it unleash a swarm of rockets, but it also temporarily increases the damage you deal with rocket launchers to open up strong new boss damage options.

Wishful Ignorance - Titan Gauntlets

  • Wish-Dragon's Talons Exotic Perk: Gain an additional Frenzied Blade charge. Frenzied Blade and Flechette Storm briefly increase their damage with each strike. Pulses from your Banner of Warn return melee energy based on the number of allies healed.
  • Source: Exotic focusing at Rahool, The Final Shape Legendary campaign

Wishful Ignorance are Exotic gauntlets for Titan which boast a very sleek design. Going all on Titan's already powerful Banner of War build, Wishful Ignorance is a powerful choice for those looking to take full advantage of Frenzied Blade and Flechette Storm.

Destiny 2 The Final Shape Exotic Class Items

The Final Shape introduces the very first Exotic class items to Destiny 2, with each class having access to one each. These Exotic class items combine the effects of two Exotics from their home class and, in some cases, even the Exotic armor of other classes. This makes them perfect for creating the best Destiny 2 Prismatic Warlock builds, Prismatic Hunter builds, or Prismatic Titan builds.

According to Bungie, Exotic class items are unlocked by completing a new activity that unlocks after the Raid World First, at the beginning of Week 2. These will be farmable and you will get a guaranteed random roll each time you complete it.
