Does Charcadet evolve in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

Yes, that Charcadet you just found does evolve. Catch it and you'll likely be pleasantly surprised by what it turns into. It'll be a valuable addition to your team early on, and a good typing for future battles as well if you stick with it.

Charcadet can evolve into either Armarogue or Ceruledge. Charcadet's evolutions appear to be version specific, with Pokemon Scarlet seeing Charcadet evolve into Armarogue, and Pokemon Violet seeing Charcadet evolve into Ceruledge.

What level does Charcadet evolve?

Charcadet does not have a level requirement for evolving, so you can evolve it at any time. But what it does have is an item requirement, and what item you'll need is different depending if you're in Scarlet or Violet.

Given the two forms of the Pokémon, two items are needed to get the different evolutions - however, they are locked to each version. Players with Scarlet will be able to evolve Armarouge, whereas those with Violet can get a cool Ceruldge.

Both evolutions rely on a new Armor item, either Auspicious Armor or Malicious Armor respectively. To get these, you'll need to collect some items and visit an NPC.

  • To get the Auspicious Armor for Armarouge, you'll need 10 Bronzor Fragments
  • To get the Malicious Armor for Ceruledge, you'll need 10 Sinistea Chips

These items must be taken to a man in Zapapico near to the Team Star base, who remains nameless, but has a speech bubble above his head offering a trade to players. He'll trade you the items for the Armor, which you can then use to evolve Charcadet.

You can find Charcadet very early on in the game, but the evolutions are held off until much later into the game.
