If there's ever been a time for frivolity in the Horizon Zero Dawn universe, then there's plenty to be found with LEGO Horizon Adventures.
Revealed at the Summer Game Fest 2024 show, LEGO Horizon Adventures seems to be much more light-hearted than you would expect from a game from the Horizon Zero Dawn world. But considering it's LEGO, are we surprised? The goofy nature is what makes LEGO games so darn good in the first place.
Alongside being far more cartoony than before, the upcoming game will feature new and returning characters from previous games. More importantly, though, Aloy, the series' signature protagonist and overall badass, will play a key part in the game.
LEGO Horizon Adventures Release Date Estimate
LEGO Horizon Adventures release date is set to be sometime during the Holidays 2024 for PC (Steam and Epic Store), PS5, and Nintendo Switch.
We estimate that it'll launch in around late November or early December time, based on previous LEGO entry release dates around that time. That and, considering how much more beneficial it would be to release a LEGO game for young audiences at around Christmas time.
If this release date does end up changing, we'll update our guide accordingly with all of the the new details.
Will LEGO Horizon Adventures have co-op?
Like most LEGO games, LEGO Horizon Adventures will offer couch co-op and online co-op. T his means that you can explore this familiar world by yourself or with a friend on the couch.
Aloy as a character is guaranteed, but we do not yet know what other characters that will be joining her. There are a selection of great characters within the Horizon Zero Dawn universe, so we don't doubt that there will be plenty to choose from for two players.
It is also possible to play LEGO Horizon Adventures entirely solo, so don't fret if you'd rather be goofy and whimsical by yourself. Sometimes, that's the best way to play!
Will LEGO Horizon Adventures come to Xbox?
As of now -- and what was shown via the presentation for Summer Games Fest -- we can assume that LEGO Horizon Adventures is not coming to Xbox consoles.
While we do believe in 'never say never', considering that Horizon Zero Dawn is exclusive to PlayStation (outside of the occasional PC port), we doubt this will change.
LEGO Horizon Adventures Story
The story for LEGO Horizon Adventures is directly inspired by the original games, but with an added LEGO twist.
For those familiar, they'll recognize the story of Aloy's adventures to uncover her destiny and the dinosaur-like machines that roam the apocalyptic Earth. She is guided by a hologram of a scientist called Elisabet, where she must confront a cult of sunworshippers of an ancient evil.
There's a lot of the original story to uncover in LEGO Horizon Adventures, and all of it will be recreated with the beautiful LEGO elements we all know and love.
