It should be no surprise that an RPG developed by HoYoverse would have a large and eclectic mix of characters to collect. As the Zenless Zone Zero characters list shows, HoYo is at the top of its game. And to be at the top of your game, you'll want to unlock as many of the ZZZ characters as you can. After all, each one brings something new to your team setups.
Before we list down every character in Zenless Zone Zero, you need to know how to get them. Broadly, this is done via the ZZZ banners, which you'll need Polychromes to get pulls. Take a look at the battle pass and events to get your hands on lots of Polychromes for a little leg work.

Anby
- Rank: A
- Speciality: Stun
- Attribute: Electric
- Attack Type: Slash
- Faction: Cunning Hares
- How to Get: Free starting character
A young girl with a mysterious past, Anby Demara's ability to maintain her composure in the most heated battles would have you believe that she has had several years of combat training.
Dealing both Stun and Electric damage, Anby is an ideal crowd-control character, able to interrupt enemy actions and stun them so your main DPS can unleash everything they've got.
Anton
- Rank: A
- Speciality: Attack
- Attribute: Electric
- Attack Type: Pierce
- Faction: Belobog Heavy Industries
- How to Get: Standard and event banners
This senior staff member of Belobog Industries is always looking to help others despite his sharp tongue. Perpetually bursting with energy and roaring to go, it seems like nothing can dampen Anton Invanov's spirits.
Equipped with a power drill on his arm, Anton is capable of dealing high damage if you can finish his lengthy combos, particularly when building for crit stats.
Ben
- Rank: A
- Speciality: Defense
- Attribute: Fire
- Attack Type: Strike
- Faction: Belobog Heavy Industries
- How to Get: Standard and event banners
With the frame and appearance of a huge bear, it's easy to get intimidated by Ben Bigger, especially when he's lugging around a giant pillar used to flatten thugs. However, get to know the gentle giant and you'll find that his stature is dwarfed by how big of a math nerd he is.
As you could probably guess, Ben is a Defense character, making him a rare tank character all about taking damage to protect the team. He can enter Defense stance to increase damage negation before dealing an enhanced strike.
Billy
- Rank: A
- Speciality: Attack
- Attribute: Physical
- Attack Type: Pierce
- Faction: Cunning Hares
- How to Get: Free starting character
Billy Kid is a cyborg who loves the show Starlight Knight. He often quotes lines from the show and wields a pair of pistols in battle. It's not hard to see why he's one of the community's most beloved characters.
Billy's greatest strength is how much damage he can dish out in only a short time at range, especially if you build him for crit stats.
Corin
- Rank: A
- Speciality: Attack
- Attribute: Physical
- Attack Type: Slash
- Faction: Victoria Housekeeping
- How to Get: Standard and event banners
A member of the Victoria Housekeeping Company who is always second-guessing herself. Reports make her out to be an outstanding employee, though she denies that any of it is accurate.
As an Attack character, Corin will be diving head first into the action as the team's main damage dealer, wielding a pizza cutter-like saw blade. If you're adept at splitting enemies up, Corin is capable of dealing lots of damage by holding to extend her attacks, though this makes her rather stationary and therefore vulnerable.
Ellen
- Rank: S
- Speciality: Attack
- Attribute: Ice
- Attack Type: Slash
- Faction: Victoria Housekeeping
- How to Get: Mellow Waveride character event banner
Ellen Joe likes to keep things simple and precise. Her perfectionist attitude makes her a threat in battle.
Being an Attack character, Ellen can lead your team with exceptional Ice damage, including in AoE situations thanks to her wide attack range.
Grace
- Rank: S
- Speciality: Anomaly
- Attribute: Electric
- Attack Type: Pierce
- Faction: Belobog Heavy Industries
- How to Get: Standard and event banners
Both brilliant and caring, Grace Howard is an influential member of Belobog Heavy Industries.
As an Anomaly character, Grace is designed to debuff the enemy and give your team an advantage. This is great for endgame activities that require more complicated damage setups. Even better than this, Grace can stay at a safe range thanks to her gun, though she can also get stuck right into the action as well.
Koleda
- Rank: S
- Speciality: Stun
- Attribute: Fire
- Attack Type: Strike
- Faction: Belobog Heavy Industries
- How to Get: Standard and event banners
Small, rambunctious, and incredibly fierce, Koleda Belobog is more than capable of wielding a large hammer and carrying the burden of being the president of Belobog Industries.
Swinging a massive hammer and wrench, Koleda is the perfect Stun character, easily immobilizing enemies as she dashes around the arena.
Luciana de Montefio
- Rank: A
- Speciality: Support
- Attribute: Fire
- Attack Type: Strike
- Faction: Sons of Calydon
- How to Get: Standard and event banners
Luciana de Montefio, better known as Lucy, means business. Decked out with a leather jacket, biker helmet, and studded bat, you don't want to mess with Lucy and her Guard Boars.
While she has an explosive playstyle, Lucy is in fact a Support character - and a strong one. Able to increase the team's ATK after using her EX Special Attack, Lucy is a great backup for a strong main DPS character like Soldier 11.
Lycaon
- Rank: S
- Speciality: Stun
- Attribute: Ice
- Attack Type: Strike
- Faction: Victoria Housekeeping
- How to Get: Standard and event banners
Rational, wise, and undeniably sophisticated, Von Lycaon is one of the most esteemed members of Victoria Housekeeping. But despite being the epitome of a gentleman, his feral side will come out when faced with danger.
Lycaon is imposing, to say the least, and that's before considering his jet boots that make him a strong Stun character. If you have Ellen, then Lycaon is the perfect ally.
Nekomata
- Rank: S
- Speciality: Attack
- Attribute: Physical
- Attack Type: Slash
- Faction: Cunning Hares
- How to Get: Standard and event banners
Nekomiya Mana, better known as Nekomata, is a mischievous little trickster who loves causing trouble. You'd best keep your eye on your wallet when Nekomata is around.
Fully embracing her feline fashion, Nekomata is an agile damage dealer who can leap around the battlefield with her dual swords.
Nicole
- Rank: A
- Speciality: Support
- Attribute: Ether
- Attack Type: Strike
- Faction: Cunning Hares
- How to Get: Standard and event banners
Nicole Demara is the street-savvy leader of the Cunning Hares. Fitting, since she is just as crafty as the organization's name would imply.
Nicole is an A-Rank, Ether Strike, Support character, so they won't be on the front lines for an extended period of time.
Piper Wheel
- Rank: A
- Speciality: Anomaly
- Attribute: Physical
- Attack Type: Slash
- Faction: Sons of Calydon
- How to Get: Standard and event banners
Piper is a seemingly permanently sleepy member of the Sons of Calydon - something we can all relate to somewhat.
While most Anomaly characters are focused on debuffing the enemy, Piper also supports her team with a damage boost (so long as they match either Attribute or Faction), activated by generating stacks of Power. Outside of this, Piper is capable of strong Physical damage once you get the hang of her attack chains.
Rina
- Rank: S
- Speciality: Support
- Attribute: Electric
- Attack Type: Strike/Pierce
- Faction: Victoria Housekeeping
- How to Get: Standard and event banners
Rina, also known as Alexandrina Sebastiane, is a woman who is captivatingly elegant while working for her clients or when taking down enemies.
Although Rina is a Support character, you might not believe so at first. Her abilities focus on dealing Electric damage, after all; it's her passives that give her a more supportive role. This means she's easy to play and simple to get the most out of her kit.
Soldier 11
- Rank: S
- Speciality: Attack
- Attribute: Fire
- Attack Type: Slash
- Faction: Obol Squad
- How to Get: Standard and event banners
Soldier 11 is a model soldier who always follows orders. She puts her experience to good use by being one of the best damage dealers in the game. By activating her ability or perfectly timing sword swings, Solider 11 can infuse her attacks with Fire damage.
Soukaku
- Rank: A
- Speciality: Support
- Attribute: Ice
- Attack Type: Slash
- Faction: Section 6 (Hollow Special Operations)
- How to Get: Standard and event banners
Soukaku is a member of Section 6 whose love for food is only eclipsed by her hatred of people who waste it. Though she seems to struggle with words, she can handle a fight with no problem.
Though she's a Support character, Soukaku is capable of surprisingly strong Ice AoE damage. However, what really makes Soukaku stand out are her supportive passives, especially her Talents which work wonders in Ice-based teams.
Zhu Yuan
- Rank: S
- Speciality: Attack
- Attribute: Ether
- Attack Type: Pierce
- Faction: New Eridu Public Security
- How to Get: Event banners
Zhu Yuan is the leader of Public Security's Criminal Investigation team in New Eridu. With this experience comes a skilled enforcer, being an S-Rank Attack character. In other words, Zhu Yuan will be leading your team as the main DPS.
Zhu Yuan is more complicated than many other units, however, with two modes: Suppressive and Assault. These impact what each of her moves does when activated, so you'll need to get to grips with this to truly master her play style.
How to Get Characters in Zenless Zone Zero
Since Zenless Zone Zero is a gacha game, you’ll be pulling for characters from a variety of banners to have them join your party. This means you won’t be able to recruit every playable character unless you grind or spend real money on the game.
This also means that new characters will constantly be added to the game. How often that will happen has yet to be seen, but we’ll be sure to update this guide as the Zenless Zone Zero roster expands.
Zenless Zone Zero Main Characters
Zenless Zone Zero has two main protagonist characters, Belle and Wise. Unlike HoYoverse's other games, however, Belle and Wise aren't full characters in the traditional sense. While you can play as them while walking around the town, they don't have any abilities and cannot be used in combat like the rest of the roster.
Belle
- How to Get: Unlocked by default
Belle is one of the non-combatant protagonists in Zenless Zone Zero. You choose between Belle and her brother Wise to be your avatar at the start of the game while the other will end up becoming your assistant at Random Play.
Wise
- How to Get: Unlocked by default
Wise is one of the non-combatant protagonists in Zenless Zone Zero. You choose between Wise and his sister Belle to be your avatar at the start of the game while the other will end up becoming your assistant at Random Play.
Upcoming Zenless Zone Zero Characters
So far, only one upcoming character has officially been revealed:
Miyabi
- Rank: TBD
- Attribute: Ice
- Attack Type: Slash
- Faction: Section 6
- How to Get: Likely a character event banner
Miyabi is the heir of a martial arts family and head of Section 6. As the leader of the organization, Miyabi looks to create an unbreakable city management system while adding to her collection of swords.
Zenless Zone Zero Factions
Each character in Zenless Zone Zero belongs to a faction. While these might seem like simple story features at first, the faction a character belongs to is actually very important when it comes to making a good team. Having characters of the same faction (or Attribute) in a team will unlock additional passive abilities which have a massive impact on your damage, survivability, and so on.
So, here's each faction in ZZZ and the characters that belong to them:
Belobog Heavy Industries
- Anton
- Ben
- Grace
- Koleda
Cunning Hares
- Anby
- Billy
- Nekomata
- Nicole
New Eridu Public Security
- Zhu Yuan
Obol Squad

Zenless Zone Zero Specialities
Characters in ZZZ are also categorized by the Speciality. These are effectively roles or classes, similar to how HoYoverse's Honkai Star Rail has character Paths. These give you an idea of how each character will play and are invaluable when making a versatile team composition. For example, you will always want to use an Attack character as your main, on-field unit as these are the main damage dealers.
- Anomaly - Offensive debuffers that weaken enemies.
- Attack - High damage in single-target, AoE, or both.
- Defense - Tanky characters aimed to take damage.
- Stun - Crowd control abilities that Daze enemies, making them vulnerable to Attackers.
- Support - Buffers that aid allies.
And that’s all of the Zenless Zone Zero characters at launch. For more about the action game, we’ve got info on the different Zenless Zone Zero elements, a guide on how to get W-Engines, and even the best ZZZ team comps you can make.
