Avowed is one of the few anticipated Xbox RPGs coming out next month and fans can’t wait to try this game out. While official details are slim, leaks have revealed that the game will have some interesting performance modes for Xbox Series X and Series S. Needless to say, the Series S is showing its lack of power, but the devs are working their way around it.
Gaming insider EXtas1stv has revealed that this new RPG will have 30 fps, 40 fps, and 60 fps options for the Series X. The less powerful Series S will only have 30 fps and 40 fps options. Fans who have a Series S might be disappointed, but considering all the compromises done for this console, this is an ideal situation.
Fans who’ve played any modern video game know that 30 fps is more than playable, so Avowed having 40 fps for Series S users is impressive. Most developers would have left it on 30 fps as recent PS4 and Switch ports have shown, so this should be commended. Obviously, the Series X version will be better, but that’s not the worst thing.
There’s a lot of hope for this Western RPG, with many players looking at it as their temporary replacement for The Elder Scrolls 6. Developer Obsidian Entertainment said that this won’t have the ridiculous length of Skyrim, which is great for some and disappointing for others. At the least, Obsidian will give players a good time, as The Outer Worlds has shown.
Xbox Series owners will be able to get their hands on Avowed on February 18. For more gaming insight, you can also read about the current identity crisis Xbox is going through in 2025. Gamers can also check out our hub for the upcoming Doom: The Dark Ages, which has many excited.
