Since they finally received the massive DLC announcement they’d all been craving, Elden Ring players have all been basking in the warm glow of knowing that work on the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion is definitely underway.

In addition to doing some detective work to try and unearth clues as to what the DLC might involve, many of these hardcore tarnished have already started diving into the intense training regimen they’ll need to complete in order to refresh and hone their skills in time for its arrival.

Though, if you’re in need of a unique challenge or are the kind of player who’s already grown weary of battling bosses with your own two hands (or guitar) and aren’t a fan of MMOs, a new mod might be worth adding to your load order.

Do you fancy being able to set up your own personal Colosseum anywhere in Elden Ring’s Lands Between?

The mod in question is called ‘Elden Ring Spirit Battler (Spirit Summon Customizer Tool)’ and is the work of modder KingBoreHaha, whose previous projects have turned the Tarnished into a master of stealth and made spirit summons completely random.

This time, they’ve decided to rework said summons and add the ability to create custom ones, to give players the power to set up unique battles involving any of the game’s enemies, from bosses to regular creatures, at any time, as you can see in the video below.

For those who just want to sit back and watch the carnage unfold, there’s the option to spawn in up to ten enemies at once, split them into teams, customise their stats, and then hide yourself from their vision so you can enjoy as close a view of the action as you please.

Want to give Malenia a squad of giant rats and have her gang face off against a union between Rennala and some bloodthirsty silver spheres? Well, with this mod, you can.

Or, if you’re keen to play an active role in any chaos, you can either spawn in a strange cocktail of enemies and set all of their attacking sights directly on your character, potentially creating an incredibly tough gauntlet to clear, or randomise who they'll be gunning for to delve into a riotous free-for-all brawl.

If any of those ideas sound like they might be up your alley, you’ll first need to grab Elden Ring’s ‘Mod Engine 2’.
