While Fallout 4 is constantly receiving new mods that bring interesting things like fresh power armour, useful plant life and even terrifying mechanised troops to The Commonwealth, sometimes you can’t beat delving back into New Vegas.
After all, with casino bosses to catch, TVs to watch and alien invasions to fight off, the Mojave has plenty to keep you entertained while you wait for Starfield or Skyblivion to finally arrive.
If none of those options offers quite enough potential for chaos to suit your sensibilities, a new mod, which helps everyone in the Mojave embrace the ethos of the Boomers, might be worth adding to your arsenal.
Feel like you’re not getting the ideal amount of bang for your buck whenever you boot up New Vegas?
The mod in question is called ‘Oops All Fat Man’ and is the work of modder PinkShoeLace, whose previous work has brought Hatsune Miku’s musical talents to New Vegas’ radio waves.
This time, inspired by ThawingFungus’s Fallout 3 mod ‘FATMEN - Everyone gets a Fatman’, they’ve decided to give pretty much every NPC in the Mojave wasteland, from Easy Pete to Julie Farkas, some highly potent ordinance in place of their guns, as well as swapping their melee weapons for some holy hand grenades.
Yup, the Fat Man, usually a rare find despite its status as one of the Fallout series’ most iconic armaments, is now in the hands of the masses, turning regular firefights into rather more spectacular exchanges, as you can see in the video below.
If that’s what Goodsprings’ gunfight looks like with the mod installed. One can only imagine the carnage that awaits those who manage to make it all the way to the final battle between the NCR and Caesar’s Legion at Hoover Dam.
Though, sadly for those who were hoping to be drowned in even more radiation than usual during their next assault on Black Mountain, super mutants aren’t included in the Fat Man, though they have all been given shiny new missile launchers as a compensatory present, so don’t feel too bad for them.
You might have to do some rearranging of your load order if you’re using any other mods which switch up the game’s levelled lists in order to get PinkShoeLace’s mod to work as intended, but once you have, it’s bomb voyage!
Regardless of whether your Courier is now dealing with an entire body’s worth of crippled limbs after failing to spot a raider ambush party quickly enough, make sure to follow us for more updates on interesting mods like this one for Skyrim and Cyberpunk 2077.
