While some GTA players are already looking forward to GTA 6, others are still trying to enjoy everything that Los Santos has to offer by spending all of their hard-earned cash, grinding out a few more heists or putting all of their in-game knowledge to good use.
After all, if you don’t enjoy trying to predict what the next game’s map will look like, lack any hot takes regarding what or who it should include, and have given up on planning out your first playthrough, why not just try to appreciate the final stretch of GTA Online, even if you aren’t exactly excited about its current in-game events?
However, if instead, you want to spice up your single-player GTA experience without burying the entire map under an avalanche of sand, a new mod might be worth a look.
Vespucci beach’s swimmers need no longer fear riptides
The mod in question is called ‘Beach Patrol V’ and is the work of modder andre500. A lot of their previous modding work has also been focused on adding things to GTA 5, for example, the ability to do some push-ups and fall asleep regardless of where you are.
This time, they’ve decided to bring the ‘beach patrol’ side missions from GTA: Vice City Stories to the game, giving Franklin, Mchael or Trevor the chance to do their best David Hasselhoff impressions and restore order to the sandy hotspots of Los Santos.
The mod does this by adding a script that’ll ensure that upon entering one of the bright yellow Declasse Grangers used by LS’s lifeguards, you’ll be dealt one of three rather simple missions to accomplish.
The options available are the same as those in Vice City Stories, tasking you with saving swimmers who are in danger of drowning, dropping off paramedics next to injured beachgoers or dealing with some bikers causing trouble on the sand.
While these little tasks probably won’t prove as lucrative as the heists the trio commit throughout the main story, they’re perfect if you’re just looking for a chance to get more immersed in the impressively rendered world of Los Santos.
If you fancy giving them a go, you’ll first need to grab the latest version of GTA 5’s script hook and Guad’s ‘NativeUI’.
