While some GTA players are still trying to enjoy everything that Los Santos has to offer by getting up to wacky hijinks and spending all of their hard-earned cash, others are already looking forward to GTA 6.
For some, this has involved trying to predict what the next game’s map will look like, agonising over how they’ll earn back their current GTA Online fortune if it includes tax mechanics, or arguing that it shouldn’t come with a new version of GTA Online.
However, others have focused on which characters from previous games they’d love to see sneak into GTA 6 for a quick cameo or to tag along on a mission, compiling a wish list that features some names you might not expect.
Which familiar faces would you like to see pop up in GTA 6?
This list was put together in a recent thread on the GTA 6 subreddit, which began with a post from user Educational-Gear-735, who pointed out the cameos from GTA 4 characters Packie McReary and Johnny Klebitz featured in GTA 5 and asked their fellow players who they’d like to see do the same in the series’ next entry.
They then outlined a cameo idea of their own, suggesting that Michael De Santa’s movie studio ties could bring him over to Vice City in order to film something, possibly leading to an encounter with one of GTA 6’s protagonists in a bar.
Similarly, user annarborjack suggested that another De Santa might be a good candidate to briefly show up amid the bright lights and blaring tunes of east coast nightlife, saying: “I like the idea of Jimmy just being a random NPC in a Vice City club.”
Others recommended dialling up the Scarface vibes with a couple of criminals who play important roles in GTA Online, with user skeletonbuyingpealts vouching for both the Madrazo family and the Cayo Perico heist’s El Rubio.
Meanwhile, some characters from GTA 4 also received votes, with user llewylill32 desperate to know how Luis Lopez is doing and Lazelucas suggesting that it would be nice to see Niko Bellic living in the kind of mansion that used to feature in his cousin’s letters.
That said, no matter who cameos in the game, everyone in the thread seemed to agree that they shouldn’t be the victim of a fate similar to that of the aforementioned Klebitz, whose death at the hands of Trevor Phillips is seemingly still viewed as a bit of an injustice by some hardcore fans.
