While some GTA players are still trying to enjoy everything that Los Santos has to offer by getting up to wacky hijinks and spending all of their hard-earned cash, others are already looking forward to GTA 6.

For some, this has involved trying to predict what the next game’s map will look like, arguing that it shouldn’t have an online mode, or simply agonising over how they’ll earn back their current GTA Online fortune if it includes tax mechanics.

However, it seems that all some players want from the new game is the chance to goof off and have a bit of fun with friends in a manner that a certain guy from Liberty City might approve of.

Do you think GTA 6 needs more activities to do with your mates?

Their collective desire for a good bowling trip is the topic of a recent thread on the GTA 6 subreddit, which began with a post from user Educational-Gear-735, who kicked things off by musing: “I know a lot of people found it annoying when friends would constantly call Niko to hang out, but I actually really enjoyed doing this in GTA 4,” adding that they don’t think GTA 5 was as fun in this regard and suggesting that the next game in the series should attempt to do better.

Naturally, this immediately led one of their fellow GTA stans to reply with a joke inspired by the infamous love affair between GTA 4’s Roman Bellic and the idea of going bowling with his cousin.

Once the wave of laughter resulting from this inevitable gag had dissipated, a number of other users expressed their agreement that some retro forms of entertainment should be brought back, with user Inside_Ad_2434 saying: “Pool was the funniest thing in (GTA 4), so they have to bring that back!” and raosko unironically declaring their love of going bowling.

On the other hand, user Jshotski23 argued that not all of GTA 5’s activities were worse than those in 4, going to bat (or club) for the ability to golf on a full-size course, rather than being limited to the driving range from The Ballad of Gay Tony.

Meanwhile, a few users highlighted the single drawback of GTA 4’s hangout system that they’d like to see stay ditched regardless of whether other features of it return, with user NotoriousLipe saying: “The annoying part about them calling you was that they actually got (angry) if you turned them down, so, you're doing your thing and out of nowhere the game would want you to stop what you're doing to ‘have fun’ with them.”
