While some GTA players are still trying to enjoy everything that Los Santos has to offer by getting up to wacky hijinks and spending all of their hard-earned cash, others are already looking forward to GTA 6.
For some, this has involved trying to predict what the next game’s map will look like, agonising over how they’ll earn back their current GTA Online fortune if it includes tax mechanics, or arguing that it shouldn’t come with a new version of GTA Online.
However, the big debate currently in vogue among those desperate to take to the streets of Vice City seems to be over whether or not the game could have its first trailer released any time soon.
Do you think we’ll see a GTA 6 trailer soon?
This is the subject of a couple of recent threads on the GTA 6 subreddit, one of which began with a post from user Predator-FTW, who stated their reasons for believing a trailer is incoming. They primarily cited the fact that Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was announced last year in the run up to the 20th anniversary of GTA 3 and pointed out that the same milestone is due for GTA Vice City on October 29 this year.
While some of their fellow players could see the logic and said that they hope this bit of speculation will come true, many weren’t ready to get their hopes up based solely on Rockstar’s penchant for using already significant dates to reveal future games, with user TheJenniferLopez saying: “I can tell you now it's not going to happen this month, nor this year.”
User Just_Josh_73 was even more brutally honest in their dismissal of the idea, saying: “In true rockstar fashion they’ll release a new t-shirt. It’ll be half a million dollars though…”
Meanwhile, in another thread, an in-depth debate raged over whether September’s GTA 6 leak will have had any effect on the likelihood of a trailer dropping this month.
In this discussion, everything from how long it takes a game studio to put together a trailer to how aware of the leak GTA fans who don’t follow gaming news obsessively would even be was dissected and argued from multiple sides and in impressive detail.
Once the dust had settled, two camps seemed to emerge, with one being composed of individuals so sure that a GTA 6 trailer is incoming that they were staking deleting their Reddit accounts on it and the second being made up of people trying to set reminders so that they could come back and laugh at the first camp.
