While some GTA players are already looking forward to GTA 6, others are still trying to make the most of their remaining time in Los Santos.

After all, if you don’t enjoy trying to predict what the next game’s map will look like, lack any hot takes regarding what it should include, and have given up on planning out your first playthrough, why not just try to appreciate the final stretch of GTA Online?

While some players have recently been doing so by cosplaying as LA Noire characters or dressing up as FIB agents to sell drugs, others are seemingly trying to work through their curb-based rage regarding the game’s freshly unveiled 50-car garage by turning the clock back almost a decade.

What kind of things were you saying to your mates about GTA Online back in 2013?

Their sentimental speech forms the subject of a recent thread on the GTA Online subreddit, which began with a post from user Adat81. They kicked off the trip down memory lane by challenging their fellow criminals to: “talk about GTA Online like it was released yesterday.”

A number of these mushy moguls were more than willing to dig into their history with the game to present some posts that wouldn’t have looked out of place in a thread from the year of Daft Punk’s Get Lucky.

For example, user DingoUpstairs2144 asked: “How do I complete rooftop rumble so I can afford an Adder?”, while AntonioJ4 shared the results of successfully doing so, declaring: “I've officially made it, I have the Eclipse Tower (apartment) and the chrome Adder, I couldn't be happier!”

Meanwhile, user Kux_borja lamented: “Oh no, someone put a ten grand bounty on me!!”, leading JKGVVV to reminisce: “And the whole lobby is now chasing you. I'll never forget a moment like that.”, before telling the tale of a bounty-fuelled rush which saw several supercars end up in the sea and ended up with a gang of players frantically swimming after the target.

Other users recalled the severe technical issues GTA Online suffered in its infancy, with ammatheron moaning: “I can't complete the intro mission with Lamar without disconnecting!” and Blacktimberlands asking: “Is anyone else’s character gone?? I grinded (through) thirteen levels and got the MP5 but now my character is gone???”
