While some GTA Online players are already looking forward to GTA 6, others are still trying to enjoy everything that Los Santos has to offer by spending all of their hard-earned cash and grinding out a few more heists.

After all, if you don’t enjoy trying to predict what the next game’s map will look like, lack any hot takes regarding what or who it should include, and have given up on planning out your first playthrough, why not just try to appreciate the final stretch of GTA Online, even if you aren’t exactly excited about its current in-game events?

That said, it seems that for some players, a case of mistaken identity is stopping them from going for the aerial joyrides they crave, leading them to hope that a weaponless version of a popular vehicle might arrive soon.

Are you tired of being mistaken for a griefer and blown out of the sky?

These desires are the subject of a recent thread on the GTA Online subreddit, which began with a post from user MrClownie, who declared: “The Oppressor Mark one should have the option to remove all weapons, making it usable in passive mode.”

They also explained their impetus for wanting to bin their bike’s rockets, saying: “(It) would be neat if you wanted to goof around in public lobbies and not get immediately blown to smithereens by surprise Toreadores or Oppressor Mark twos.”

Some of their fellow players were big fans of this idea but didn’t think it should be limited to the first-generation Oppressor, with user mindshift42 saying: “I agree, but not just (the Oppressor) Mark one. All of them. Or, at least, going passive disables the weapons.”

Others were a little less enthusiastic, with user Much_Video_2693 pointing out: “This was abused by players a lot. It's a bad idea…”, leading ZerotheWanderer to suggest that the old trend of ‘passive popping’ (killing someone and then going into passive mode to avoid any repercussions) could be remedied by: “Making it (so) you cannot change passive status while in a weaponized vehicle. You have to get out and be on foot to do it.”

Meanwhile, user guilhermehl outlined an alternative idea, suggesting: “I say disarm all sci-fi and fantasy vehicles. Change my mind”, with Hungry-Ad9840 agreeing and adding: “I basically only use a Toreador now because of (Oppressor) Mark 2s. Weaponized vehicles past the Pegasus ones screwed up freemode.”
