With rumors of Xbox bringing more of their games to other systems, it’s no surprise that Halo: The Master Chief Collection has been discussed for a PS5 release. Most fans would assume that Xbox would cling on to some of their few exclusive IPs to make people buy these systems. Then again, with Forza Horizon 5 now coming to PS5, anything can happen.

Gaming insider Jez Corden claims that we’re going to see the MCC on PS5 now that Forza is officially coming to PS5. Halo coming to other systems had been rumored before, but no one would take them seriously because this is a beloved Xbox IP. Now that we’re getting more of these Xbox properties in Sony’s current-gen system, pretty much anything can happen.

Xbox has been pretty open about bringing more of their games to other systems as of late. It wasn’t that long ago when Phil Spencer shouted out to the Nintendo Switch 2, essentially confirming some ports for the system. To be fair, Sony has also brought some of their PS5 games to PC, but Nintendo has yet to do that.

Microsoft is much more open to sharing their IP, given that they’ve accepted their fate as the third place console. From the beloved Cuphead to Hi-Fi Rush, it’s clear that the company is not shy about sharing their games. It might be annoying for Xbox players, but having Game Pass should make this issue sting less.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection had some problems at launch but has since received updates and is now the best way to experience these games. The fact that fans can play online multiplayer for these older titles is worth celebrating. Putting them on PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 would get fans talking, since this is an OG Xbox property.
