Here's our easy-to-follow step-by-step guide on how to install SideQuest on your Oculus Quest 2 and connect everything up.
Step 1
Make sure your Quest 2 is connected to your PC or a phone via the bundled USB-C charging cable. If your PC has a Type-C port, you're good to go.
Step 2
To access SideQuest, or even to sideload apps, you'll need to make sure your Quest is in Developer Mode. To enable this, you'll need to register as a developer with your Oculus account.
Step 3
Once you've registered, then you can enable Developer Mode. To do this, go into Settings in the Oculus App with your headset turned on, and then go into the More Settings section. Then, switch on Developer Mode and fully reboot your device.
Step 4
Now it's a case of downloading SideQuest. To install it on your PC, head to the SideQuest downloads page, pick the relevant file, download it and run the installer. This will install all necessary files and drivers so you can sideload.
Step 5
You'll then need to open SideQuest once it's installed, then turn your headset back on, and set up a Guardian boundary. Then, plug your headset in and you should see a prompt to 'Allow USB Debugging'.
If you don't want to see the prompt every time, simply tick the 'Always allow' box.
Once you're done with this, you're all set up and ready to go, and it's a case of just going to the SideQuest website and hitting the 'Sideload' button on whatever games and apps you want to download, and they should all install just fine.
