The recent debunking of many GTA 6 theories has left people feeling disappointed during the holidays. Many fans felt disappointed and at the same time angry, leading to the eventual subreddit lock in r/GTA6.

Some moved on, ready to face 2025 with a new outlook and determination not to speculate something before Rockstar Games announced something official for GTA 6. But others are just simply determined to crack something about the upcoming GTA title.

Gone were the speculations about the trailer, and eager fans set their eyes again on the GTA 6 trailer, noticing a striking resemblance between GTA 6's Jason and a protagonist from an earlier title: Niko Bellic from GTA IV.

Posted on Reddit, by u/workaccount16, they shared a screenshot of Jason's side profile from the GTA 6 trailer, along with another screenshot of Nico Bellic from GTA IV.

At first glance, both the protagonists' hair and head shape look strikingly similar but the differences become obvious after closer inspection. This has led the community to speculate whether Jason is related to Niko, and many others have come up with their own theories.

One particular fan theorized that Jason is possibly Niko's son from Michelle, also known as Karen during the latter parts of GTA IV. This would mean that the events in GTA IV happened in a much earlier period instead of 2008 when it was released. Considering their similarities and how the GTA games are direct sequels of each other, many think that the new protagonist has already been conceived during GTA IV.

Others aren't so convinced about Niko becoming a father, but they are quite certain that Jason might be related to Niko, but not in a paternal way.

They actually theorize that Jason is a cousin of Niko, which is quite a stretch compared to him being Niko's son but hey, uncles and nephews can still look alike right?

If are one of many who stayed up late or were too excited for the December 27 announcement, you might still be feeling disappointed and are going through different stages of grief.
