How to unlock Archon archetype in Remnant 2?
While some doubted the existence of the Archon class in Remnant 2, it has been confirmed through game files that this archetype is present in the game, and you can unlock it.
However, acquiring this archetype is no easy feat. It requires you to equip 12 specific items and reach a secret area through the Corrupted Labyrinth portal.
Gear needed to unlock Archon Archetype
Let’s take a quick look at the items you need.
Armor Set
To start things off, you need the Explorer’s gear set, which requires you to beat the game and craft the Golden Compass engram. Purchase this Realmwalker set from the armour NPC Whispers.
Skills
The two skills you need are Fortune Hunter and Worm Hole. Level up your Explorer archetype to 10 and unlock the Fortune Hunter skill, whereas Worm Hole requires you to level up the Invader archetype to level 5.
Relic
Then you need the Void Heart relic, which requires you to reroll your campaign in N’Erud with Sha’Hala as a world boss. Defeat this boss, talk to the Custodian, and wait 12 real-world hours. Then you’ll see a corrupted version of N’Erud with Alepsis-Taura as the only zone you can visit. You will find Void Heart there.
Amulet
The amulet needed for your loadout is Leto’s Amulet, which can be bought from Reggie in Ward 13 after doing the 100 flop dodge challenge. You can perform these dodges anywhere as long as you're at max encumbrance.
Rings
The four rings you need to equip are Amber Moonstone, Black Cat Band, Anastasija’s Inspiration, and Zania’s Malice.
- Purchase Amber Moonstone from Cassie in Ward 13. Her shop refreshes every 30 mins.
- Buy Black Cat Band from Reggie after dying 15 times, while Whispers sells Anastasija’s Inspiration for 3000 scraps.
- Zania’s Malice is located in the final area, Root Earth, near the 1st checkpoint under a secret passageway.
Weapons
The weapon loadout you need to equip is Cube Gun, Labyrinth Staff, and Ford’s Scattergun.
- You can craft the Cube Gun at McCabe's shop in Ward 13 after killing the Labyrinth Sentinel boss.
- The Labyrinth Staff can be found in the Labyrinth near the changing portal. Instead of going into the portal, turn left to find the floating platform underneath. Wait for the teleporting platform, jump on it, and kill the enemies in the area to get this weapon.
- To unlock Ford's Scattergun, reroll your game in Yaesha Adventure Mode so The Red Throne zone appears. Progress through the questline of The Eternal Empress so you find the Ornate Key in The Widow’s Court. In the same area, proceed through an illusory wall to find an Ornate Lockbox. Give the box to the empress without opening it to receive the Seal of the Empress ring. Get to the library near the front door of the temple and equip the ring to find a secret passage containing this weapon.
How to get the Strange Box to unlock Archon Archetype
Now that you have all the required items equipped go to the Labyrinth and reach the glitching portal. Enter the portal once you see the beam-like formation inside and drop down to a spawning bridge. Cross the bridge and turn right to find the Corrupted Biome portal. It will only be accessed if you equipped all the items we mentioned.
Finally, entering the Corrupted Portal teleports you to a secret area called the Backrooms. Activate your skills and navigate this strange maze-like area to find an item called the Strange Box. Once you have it, make your way back to Wallace in Ward 13 and use it to craft the Hexahedron Engram. Equip this Engram to unlock the Archon Archetype.
While you’re in the Backrooms, you can use your Hunter’s Fortune skill to find two more pieces of loot there. These items include a Bisected Ring and a Gunfire Security Lanyard amulet.
