Modders have put an awful lot of effort into making sure Skyrim has continually evolved and expanded in the years since it was first released into the world.

Many have focused on changing the game by adding fresh quests, challenging dungeons, and majestic player homes to it, with a few even going as far as giving you the chance to visit a clockwork city when they head to Blackreach or wield some spells inspired by the Eye of Magnus.

If you’re someone who loves embracing the power fantasy of being the Dragonborn and wants to augment their powers with some fresh abilities inspired by the game’s infamous Dragon Priests, a new mod might be worth taking a look at.

Fancy donning the mask and gaining the powers of one of Skyrim’s Dragon Priests?

The mod in question is called ‘The Dragon Cult - Priesthood’, and is the latest work of modder DeltaRider. Some of their previous projects have completely overhauled the game’s draugr and dragons, making both feel significantly more unique.

This time, they’ve decided to introduce a brand new perk tree to it, which allows you to add a range of abilities inspired by Dragon Priests to your Dragonborn’s arsenal, all of which are “designed to give more depth to spellsword [and Dragonborn ability-focused] builds”.

In order to gain access to the tree containing these powers, you’ll need to head to Labyrinthian’s Bromjunaar Sanctuary, where you’ll now be able to join the Dragon Cult and kneel before the altar of Dragon Priest masks.

Once you’ve done so, you’ll be able to gradually earn perks by donning your vanilla Dragon Priest mask of choice and slaying hordes of draugr, with abilities like having your shouts spawn a Wyrm to fight alongside you and being able to enchant much more powerful gear while wearing your mask being up for grabs.

That said, as you might expect, there’s a catch to joining up with an evil ancient cult, which manifests in the form of a curse called ‘Dragon Binding’, which will increase your shout cooldown times by 50% while wearing a Dragon Priest mask, until you dispel it by earning all of the tree’s perks.

If that doesn’t sound like a deal breaker, you’ll want to grab meh321’s ‘Address Library for SKSE Plugins’ and ‘Custom Skills Framework’, both of which are required to begin your initiation into the Dragon Cult.
