Modders have put an awful lot of effort into making sure Skyrim has continually evolved and expanded in the years since it was first released into the world.
Many have focused on changing the game by adding fresh boss battles, tougher bandits, and majestic player homes to it, with a few even going as far as giving the Dragonborn the chance to wear some exotic Maomer armour or wield some spells inspired by the Eye of Magnus.
If you’re in the mood to get involved in a fresh adventure and don’t want to stray too far from the familiar sights and sounds of Whiterun, a new mod might be worth taking a look at.
Fancy getting revenge on Skyrim’s Belethor for all those times he’s given you bad deals on valuable gear?
The mod in question is called ‘Belethor's Sister - Quest’, and is the latest work of prolific modder wSkeever. Some of their previous projects have massively expanded the game’s pool of wall-mounted home decorations and ensured NPCs won’t become hostile in response to you healing them.
This time, they’ve decided to add to the array of quests they’ve already brought to the game with a fresh adventure that centres around an NPC you’ll definitely have interacted with if you’ve ever offloaded some valuable goods from a dungeon haul in Whiterun.
As you can see in the showcase video above, the first of the mod’s two main quests will see you tasked with heading to the Soul Cairn, rescuing the sister of Belethor, the shopkeeper of the city’s general store, and bringing her home to Whiterun, providing another chance to take in sights and sounds the unnerving realm you’ll already have to have visited during the Dawnguard DLC.
Then, in a separate quest, you can help this sister, whose name is Lelaegh, complete a hostile takeover of her brother’s shop by acquiring the shares in it owned by an assortment of Whiterun’s townsfolk (including Nazeem, so you better not have killed him), with the final decision over which sibling ends up in control of the business resting entirely in your hands.
That said, it looks like there’s plenty of incentive for you to help Lelaegh successfully execute her scheme, as she’ll be able to send you off on a few different types of radiant quest to help with the store’s running, all of which can boost the weekly dividend payment you can receive from her as a new shareholder in the shop.
Regardless of whether you’re now getting ready to go into business with Lelaegh by raising Skyrim's most annoying noble from the dead, make sure to follow us for more updates on The Elder Scrolls 6 and the interesting world of Bethesda game modding, including our top mods of the month.
