We could quite easily chalk up Spider-Man as being one of the more acrobatic daredevils in the Marvel universe, but is there a limit to his adrenaline-fuelled shenanigans? One important detail players will want to know as they play Spider-Man 2 is the consequences of any aerial bloopers that Peter or Miles may perform as they web-swing and web-glide through the skyscrapers of New York. So let's find out if there is fall damage in Spider-Man 2!
The third instalment in the critically-acclaimed Spider-Man series swings in the eager hands of PS5 owners. After an incredible first two chapters that brought us a fresh look at two of the iconic wall-crawlers, we'll finally get to see the two of them team up. That's right, Peter Parker and Miles Morales are playable in the same game. A web-head's wildest dreams have come true.
Our Spider-Man 2 hub is the only resource you'll need for all the essential guides, tips, and tricks for the game! We've got you covered on a range of topics spanning from basics like how to fast travel or save your game to the trickier stuff like how to find Tech Stashes and which suit tech upgrades to get first!
Is there fall damage in Spider-Man 2?
The good news for all of us not-so-graceful Spider-Man enthusiasts is that Spider-Man 2 does not have fall damage. No matter how high the building you leap from or how fast you traverse New York, you'll not be penalised for unexpectedly hitting the ground.
This news comes as no surprise to most fans of the franchise, as it's consistent with the series' first two instalments. In neither Spider-Man nor Spider-Man: Miles Morales did we see either web-slinger cop a battering to their HP or straight-up flat line on account of clumsiness. So whether it be from the top of a car or the Empire State Building, you're all good, fam.
How to get the Splat trophy
Not only is fall damage a welcome omission from Spider-Man 2, but being a complete Spider-Clutz is encouraged if you want to get your hands on the game's platinum trophy. We're eager to find out if Peter and Miles' failed stunts are as spectacular as their successful ones.
In order to earn the Splat trophy, you'll need to attempt and fail an aerial trick before "landing" on the ground, as the trophy description says. In simple terms, do a bunch of flips and completely botch the landing. Performing this is really simple, all you need to do is perform a trick and not let go of the trick button before landing. That'll mean Spider-Man is not prepared to gracefully land on his feet and will instead skip along the ground like a smooth rock on a lake. Ouch.
That's all you need to know about fall damage in Spider-Man 2 but, of course, there's plenty more where that came from. Take a look at how to quietly dispatch your adversaries with a stealth takedown, or maybe something more passive, like how to skip puzzles or interact with citizens?
