Stealth takedowns are hype!

How to perform a stealth takedown in Spider-Man 2

If you're a new player who hasn't tried previous titles in the franchise, like 2018's Marvel's Spider-Man and 2020's Miles Morales Spider-Man, then stealth takedowns might feel a bit confusing. If you're a veteran of the series, on the contrary, the process is extremely familiar.

First off, as the name implies, you'll need to be undetected. So it's recommended you're perched up in a spot that lets you scan the best route to use a stealth takedown on a preoccupied enemy.

Once you're close enough to an enemy that hasn't detected you, a prompt to do a stealth takedown will appear. Press the square button to trigger it. If you're on a perch, you'll be able to pull a perch takedown. You can even surprise enemies from below with a takedown while wallcrawling.

Do keep in mind you need to be wary of being detected while performing takedowns. You might accidentally do a web-strike takedown, which is not stealthy at all and can get you in trouble. Also, even while doing a stealth takedown you can be caught.

To avoid being seen, press R3 to see if the enemy you're trying to take down is in line of sight of another. If their not, a prompt saying 'Safe' will appear and you'll be able to freely do a stealth takedown.
