Even with Microsoft's acquisition plans for Activision Blizzard, that's not slowing down plans on other platforms. Now, we've had it confirmed that Warcraft's getting a brand new mobile game this year.
Confirmed during the company's quarterly earnings report, that supports what CEO Bobby Kotick previously stated when he described mobile games could “create opportunities for both existing players and new fans to experience the Warcraft universe in entirely new ways”.
Blizzard Is Launching a Mobile Warcraft Game This Year
Specifically, part of the earnings report confirmed:
“Blizzard is planning substantial new content for the Warcraft franchise in 2022, including new experiences in World of Warcraft and Hearthstone, and getting all-new mobile Warcraft content into players’ hands for the first time."
That follows the revelation last month that Blizzard are currently working on a brand-new IP, which is currently unnamed but a survival game for PC and console, which began development in 2017. Make sure to follow us for more gaming news and updates as it happens.
