With many long-term lovers of The Witcher 3 deciding to return to the game in order to check out December’s next-gen update, the streets of The Continent are bustling with more life than they’ve seen in a good while.
Those jumping back into the body of the white wolf on PC might have noticed that a lot of new mods based around the fresh content added by the update, such as its armours, medallions and ray-traced environments, have been popping up recently.
In addition, a lot of uber-popular mods that’ve been out for a little while are starting to receive fresh updates, while some modders are having a go at creating fresh works designed to mirror the purpose of older mods that don’t seem to be in line for next-gen reworks. The latest of the latter helps Geralt to deal with his stubble without returning to civilization.
Not interested in slowing down your next-gen playthrough in order to hunt down a barber?
The mod in question is called ‘Cut-Throat Razor’ and is the work of modder paulr0013, whose previous work has made sure that you can take in The Continent’s views without having to peer through dirt or glare and given Geralt the power to change the weather at will.
This time, they’ve decided to release a mod that can help those who’re really embracing life on the path during their next-gen playthrough, but don’t want this to come with an unshakeable wildman aesthetic.
The mod deals with this hair-based headache by providing the white wolf with a cut-throat razor which can be activated via his inventory at any time and will reset his appearance to completely clean-shaven.
This shaving instrument can be acquired via a chest located in the same room of Vizima’s palace in which Geralt endures being shaved during the game’s main quest, or simply console commanded into his possession.
While it’ll likely be most useful to next-gen players, there’s also a version of the mod available that’s designed to work with the pre-update version of the game, just in case you fancy a change from established works like Murzinio’s ‘Razor and Shears (Previously Razor Shaving)’ or SpontanCombust’s ‘Immersive Beard and Hair Trimming’.
