When they’re not out mowing their way through terrifying mutated creatures or mechanised faction troops, Fallout 4’s Sole Survivor can often be found chilling at the settlements they’ve established throughout the wasteland.

These safe havens usually offer a bit of welcome respite from the dangers of the post-apocalypse, with plenty of space to repair damaged power armour, tinker with weapons or even test out explosives, assuming you’re far enough away from your settlers to avoid getting a stern talking to.

If you’re a vault dweller who always has to spend an infuriating amount of time fiddling around with decorations in order to make your bases and towns feel suitably cosy and lived-in whenever you build a new one, a new mod might be worth adding to your load order.

Ever wished you could make your bases in Fallout 4 feel cosy without hours of tinkering?

The mod in question is called ‘Static Object Decorator’ and is the work of modder Aurelianis. Some of their previous projects have made a bunch of quality-of-life tweaks to the game and given the population of Diamond City makeovers.

This time, with the help of cadpnq’s ‘Settlement Menu Manager’, they’ve created a tool that allows you to craft and place a massive range of items from throughout the game and pieces of furniture that come as pre-decorated sets.

While there are over 1.6k new objects contained within the mod, odds are the most useful for those craving a rapidly-assembled, but still cosy, home will be its pre-decorated tables, beds and kitchens, which allow you to make houses feel like they actually belong to somebody without having to waste any time.

That said, as alluded to, it also features an array of individual items, including clothing, food and general clutter, that you can place as static items, providing an interesting alternative to mcface and EbokianKnight’s uber-popular ‘OCDecorator - Static Loot’.

If you end up having issues placing any of these items, Aurelianis seemingly advocates letting them know so that they can look into it or grabbing TheLich’s ‘Place Everywhere’ instead.

They’re also planning on adding more pre-decorated furniture to the mod, which they describe as still being in a “beta” phase, via future updates, so make sure to check back if you’re after a specific style of item to take pride of place in your digs.
