From turning Concord into a revitalised pre-war style town to giving you the chance to ride around on a Deathclaw, Fallout 4 mods can add a lot to the experience on offer in The Commonwealth.
While some focus on giving you the tools to add your own personal twists to the activities, visuals, and gear of your post-apocalyptic playthroughs, others provide the means for creatively talented vault dwellers to construct fresh adventures for their fellow Fallout fans to enjoy.
If you’ve recently been on hiatus from the wasteland while completing quests and building contraptions in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, a new mod, which brings a taste of Hyrule to post-apocalyptic Boston, might be worth taking a look at.
Fancy bringing a taste of The Legend of Zelda to your next Fallout 4 playing session?
The mod in question is called ‘The Master Sword and Sacred Grove’ and is the latest work of modder SunnyDelight. Some of their previous projects have seen them create one of Fallout London’s unique guns and bring a blunderbuss to Fallout New Vegas.
This time, they’ve decided to celebrate the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom by creating a small, fully-voiced quest for Fallout 4 that’ll task you with retrieving Link’s signature weapon.
As you can see in the showcase video above, in order to land the famous Master Sword and its scabbard, you’ll have to head to a sacred grove that SunnyDelight has designed to be “full of collectable items and various little secrets,” which you can only gain access to by answering some Zelda-themed questions from a mysterious stranger.
Both the location and the weapon itself are designed to mimic their appearances in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, with custom architecture, one-of-a-kind animations and unique ambient music making both feel a bit more special than they might otherwise.
The mod also includes a Dark Link-themed variant of the sword and scabbard that are a bit less powerful and can be found in the Museum of Witchcraft, as well as the opportunity the build a settlement in the Sacred Grove via an optional file.
Before you can do that, however, you’ll need to make sure you’re running the Fallout 4 Script Extender. You can also check out SunnyDelight’s YouTube channel for some behind-the-scenes looks at how the mod came to be.
