While some GTA players are already looking forward to GTA 6, others are still trying to enjoy everything that Los Santos has to offer by debating whether they hate characters from the Los Santos Drug Wars DLC, moving to the countryside or becoming a lifeguard in story mode.
After all, if you don’t enjoy trying to predict what the next game’s map will look like, lack any hot takes regarding what it should include, and have given up on planning out your first playthrough, why not just try to appreciate the final stretch of GTA Online?
Currently, though some of the game’s hardcore players are locked in an intense debate regarding the game’s economy, with the main issue being whether Cayo Perico heist grinders are right to be upset with Rockstar for delivering changes to nerf it, as players have accused the game’s most recent update of doing.
Do you think GTA Online’s heist grinders need to diversify their money-making habits?
This important economic dispute forms the subject of a thread on the GTA Online subreddit, which has since been removed by a moderator, but began with a post from user CatboyRetr0, who shared a meme they’d made accusing those determined to grind the heist of simply undermining Rockstar’s efforts to encourage them to try different missions and businesses.
Naturally, a lot of their fellow players didn’t think the message of this humorous image held any weight when subjected to rigorous critique, with user Linux_user592 arguing: “The thing is though, Cayo is simply very efficient if you don't have a lot of free time, as other businesses take hours to produce and when you sell you still make less than Cayo, and nerfing it isn't going to help, buffing everything else is.”
A number of others echoed their assessment of the situation, with user ohsouthlondon revealing: “I have a life outside of GTA and Cayo made it easier to spend the odd hour or two chilling after work.”, while GetSchwiftyClub said: “I can't understand why motorcycle club sell missions haven't been adjusted. The small payout buff (from) a while back is negligible. This DLC was a pretty good opportunity to change them (in my opinion).
Meanwhile, some suggested that they weren’t too bothered by the nerf because their days of trying to maximise revenue are over, such as user Travis812, who declared: “I'm honestly done with Cayo now (to be honest). I can make a million in 2-3 hours by doing businesses, (emptying the) nightclub safe, agency contracts, CEO warehouse sells, etc. I'm having much more fun making less money in the open world than making $1.5 million endlessly grinding Cayo Perico.”
