While some GTA Online players are already looking forward to GTA 6, others are still trying to enjoy everything that Los Santos has to offer by nailing sick stunts or spending all of their hard-earned cash.
After all, if you don’t enjoy trying to predict what the next game’s map will look like, lack any hot takes regarding what or who it should include, and have given up on planning out your first playthrough, why not just try to appreciate the final stretch of GTA Online?
However, the ability of some players to do so is currently being impeded by their unhappiness over a feature that could potentially be coming to GTA+ at some point.
What do you think of GTA+ subscribers potentially being able to teleport across the map?
Their dissatisfaction is the subject of a recent thread on the GTA Online subreddit, which began with a post from user thepaydaygang, who shared a tweet from renowned Rockstar games update monitor @TezFunz2, which suggests that a taxi service with skippable journeys is being considered for GTA+.
Naturally, this doesn’t seem to have gone down well with the players in the thread, with user KHR3b saying: “Yay, adding into multiplayer a feature that was in story mode already.” and TheWhiteRabbit74 adding: “Welcome to pay to win. Or maybe pay to grief.”
Others seemed to struggle to understand how the new service would differ from GTA Online’s current taxi service, with a few users suggesting the only change would be making the journey skippable while riding in one, which isn’t currently an option in Online, but is in single player.
Some players openly suggested that being able to do this in Online would be of no use to them, with user seamonkey420 saying: “I (am) usually in an invite-only session and in turn just change spawn location to where I want to go and then find a new invite-only session and ‘fast travel’ that way. (I’m) on PS5 so it's nearly instant.”
Meanwhile, user Cookiesrdelishus suggested that they aren’t even a fan of the principle behind the possible feature, saying: “I honestly don't like instant travel in this game. It makes 90% of (the) vehicles useless when you just phone a taxi and teleport anywhere you want.” and adding: “GTA 5's map used to feel massive, but today feels like the smallest video game map I've ever played because of Rockstar adding ridiculously fast methods (of) travel.”
