While some GTA Online players are already looking forward to GTA 6, others are still trying to enjoy everything that Los Santos has to offer by getting up to wacky hijinks and spending all of their hard-earned cash.

After all, if you don’t enjoy trying to predict what the next game’s map will look like, lack any hot takes regarding what or who it should include, and have given up agonising over how you’ll earn back your current fortune if the new game includes tax mechanics, why not just try to appreciate the final stretch of GTA Online?

In the case of some GTA players, this enjoyment is coming from a spot of hardcore roleplaying or nailing a sick stunt, while others are making a last-ditch attempt to unlock an item that requires a lot of grinding. However, as a recent Reddit thread reveals, not all of the game’s most expensive items and options are worth their cost.

What sticks out among your GTA Online receipts as a bad investment?

Said thread on the GTA Online subreddit began with a post from user BrewCity5inner, who said: “Let’s make a list of things that were a waste of money in GTA Online.”, adding: “We all grind hard to buy all of this stuff, it would just be good to know what we shouldn’t buy or bother with.”

Naturally, their fellow GTA stans were quick to chime in with some nominations, with user 7v_phtgrphy going for an old favourite in the form of buying a horn for your Toreador only to discover that a missile barrage is all that’ll come out of pressing it and Sir_Phil_McKraken also going for a vehicular purchase by saying: “The ramp truck. You can't even jump vehicles on the ramp, making it totally meaningless.”

Though, not all of the modes of transport mentioned in the thread were unanimously condemned, with user Kermit_El_Froggo_ defending the a couple of the game’s most costly investments by saying: “Things like the Yacht and Luxor Deluxe aren't wastes of money, since that's literally the whole point. It's like saying Gucci is a waste of money.”

While these items were suggested not to have a practical use for a reason, a few of the thread’s disgruntled business owners didn’t extend that same courtesy to some of their real estate ventures, with the Diamond Casino penthouse’s office, the bunker’s vehicles and the document forgery office available as a motorcycle club business all being slammed as not worth it.

Meanwhile, user luigi_b0red outed themselves as a party pooper by singling out the dry ice that’s deployable in the Nightclub, leading the fittingly named iceburnfiremelts to declare: “at least the dry ice is aesthetically pleasing.”
