Modders have put a lot of effort into making sure Skyrim has continually evolved and expanded in the eleven years since it was first released into the world.

A lot of these efforts have focused on adding in interesting things that aren’t too out-of-place in Tamriel, such as destination weddings, chatty carriage drivers, and more ways for enemies to tell you that they aren’t fond of your character.

However, for those who aren’t too bothered about immersion, are still hyped up from hearing about Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty expansion at last night’s Game Awards and have already given your Fallout 4 character some cool braindance gear, a new mod might be worth adding to your load order.

Have you ever thought Skyrim could do with a touch of technological advancement?

The mod in question is called ‘Cyberware Spells’, and is the work of modder TactWithMolag. They haven’t been making mods for long, but have already removed the visual effects from the whirlwind sprint shout and developed their own unique spell.

This time, they’ve decided to try something a bit more advanced, becoming a Tamrielic ripperdoc by recreating the various effects of some of Cyberpunk 2077’s cyberware using a range of different spells.

Whether it’s a brief flash of detect life to imitate using your Kiroshi optics to scan a room, sabrecat legs to help you achieve the enhanced movement offered by Night City’s lynx paws and fortified ankles, or even time-slowing effects to mimic the use of sandevistan, you’re bound to find something to suit your playstyle among these enhancements.

However, it’d be unwise to go and do the magical equivalent of switching out your Dragonborn’s entire body for mechanical parts, as TactWithMolag has added some negative effects to using the spells, in order to make sure they aren’t too overpowered.

So, if you become too reliant on them, get ready to experience the likes of slower health regeneration, health damage, and even some reduction to poison resistance that’ll make those first two hurt all the more.

Regardless of whether you’re now trying to explain to the greybeards that using a force field should be taught as part of the way of the voice, make sure to follow us for more updates on The Elder Scrolls 6 and the interesting worlds of Cyberpunk 2077 and Skyrim modding.
